Final Notes:

I hope to major in some sort of engineering, but I might go medical.

Would it be possible to go to an ivy league school with this? My goal is Notre Dame, but I might shoot higher. I'm just hoping my ACT overshadows my SAT score.
Top 5 schools:

[] Notre Dame
[] Vanderbilt
[] Georgia Tech
[] Maybe Cornell
[li] MIT in my dreams[/li][/ul]

EDIT:: added some info

Your ACT is very high, and your rank is good!
I think the only thing that would possibly hurt you is that you only took Spanish for four years. That being said, I don’t know the circumstances or why–i.e., maybe it wasn’t offered one year or something. If so, make sure to indicate when you apply.
Maybe try for some leadership roles? I think that starting the young libertarian club would be a great way to achieve that–Ivy Leagues love leadership.

The Spanish for four years won’t hurt him, I don’t think.

Georgia Tech-Completely IN. Easy, easy.
Notre Dame- match
Vanderbilt- match, but if you’re a minority, all the way in.

Cornell and MIT, reaches of course. But I think you can do it, I really do.

Umm, I actually took Spanish for 3 years, one of them was an honors course. I will edit my original post to prevent any more confusion.

Also, I will be having a teacher who has a doctorate in Engineering from Duke write one of my recommendations.

sorry, i typed incorrectly–
I thought that maybe taking spanish for just THREE years might hurt you–
but, like I said, it’s the only thing. i was just being nit-picky :]

any other opinions?

You have a great ACT score- definitely send that, not the SAT  Your GPA seems solid, if a bit on the low side, and I personally think that your ECs are great and well rounded. They might not be as flashy as some other people’s, but its good that you picked interests and stuck with them.
I say 80% chance at Notre Dame, in at Vandy and Georgia Tech, low reach for Cornell, and high reach for MIT … only bc you dont jump out from the pool
chance me back if you have time? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736548-chance-me-top-schools-ivies.html</a></p>

Definitely send in your ACT in place of the SAT. Your stats are pretty good overall. That new club won’t hurt you - you don’t have many clubs and leadership never hurts. Don’t undersell yourself! You have great potential.

Notre Dame: Low Match
Vanderbilt: Match
Georgia Tech: In
Cornell: Reach
MIT: Reach, but don’t be afraid to try! You definitely have a good chance.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/737246-chances-wellesley-ed-lacs.html</a></p>

That was nicely formatted!
Anyways, obviously send in the ACt instead of the SAT, a 35 is an amazing score. I think MIT will LOVE the robotics competition stuff, as would Cornell if you chose to apply there, I would be hocked if you got rejected from any of those other schools.
Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/736194-georgetown-sfs-ea-updated-sats.html</a></p>

your ACT score is crazy, the lacross thiing helps and so do the rest of your ec activities. Georgia Tech is in. Notre Dame and Vanderbilt are probably matches. Cornell and MIT might be a little reach, but then again they’re reaches no matter what.

looks pretty good overall. one thing that might stop you from getting into MIT or Cornell: your rank. There are 29 people who are higher than you in your class alone, and unless your high school is an ivy league feeder, each school wil generally only accept a few if any students from any given high school. If any of those 29 people also applies to MIT or Cornell, they have an immediate advantage. That aside, your ECs and ACT are great. I dont see the harm in sending both of your scores, they will identify the ACT as your better score. I’m sending in my 2100 with my 34 to pretty much all the schools that I am applying to. can anyone explain if this is a bad idea, because i would like to know.
