Ivy league/MIT ect

so I’m just in 10th grade but I’m trying to plan early so I’m wondering if anyone can help me.
My top three schools are harvard, yale and MIT for a major in architecture, do I have a chance of getting in?
my freshman GPA was 4.0
currently I am in Sophomore year with a GPA of 4.2. My school does not weight most honors classes so my GPA is with straight A+
my courses are
Honors biology
Honors literature and composition
Spanish 2
AP world
functions, statistics and trigonometry
Ballet 3
my plans for junior and senior year are
Junior year: 4.8
AP physics 1
AP english language
AP art history
AP us history
Pre-calc honors
Spanish 3
Senior year: 5.0
AP physics 2
AP psychology
AP statistics
AP calculus BC
AP economy/government
AP literature and composition

I’m currently in JSA, bee club (raises money/ promotes awareness about colony collapse), green lab, future doctors honors club, Amnesty international and care for kids (makes care packages for underprivileged disabled preschool children).

My school goes from 8 till 5, this is because it is an arts school which means we have 3 hours of art classes everyday after regular school. (all of which i have an A in)

Due to the fact that my school goes so late, my after school extracurriculars consist of only SAT math prep.

Next year I am planning on starting a club for leadership experience. Any ideas? I also have applied for some leadership positions, but idk yet.

I have about 70 hours of community service in high school so far and i am planning on doing about 20-30 more this summer.

I have not got back my SAT and ACT scores, but I typically score above 95th percentile on practice tests. I am planing on taking about 40 hours of kaplan tutoring this summer which should raise it and continue my summer schedule of studying minimum 3 hours a day for SAT/ACT.

the next summer i am set up to take two college summer classes for architecture, an extra year in spanish and more community service.

My AP practice test for AP world (which is obviously really easy) is typically about 66 out of 70 on the practice test and 100% on the practice essays. same with the SAT 2 multiple choice average.

basically, does anyone have any suggestions about other things i should be doing? Thing i should do different? Do i have a chance at getting in? help meeeeeeeee

For schools like MIT you have to typically do research and participate(and win) competetitions on a national or at least statewide scale, basic clubs in your school typically won’t get the job done for such elite schools. Also you have to find a passion and build upon that throughout high school culminating with some sort of impact at the state or national level.

any suggestions about how to get involved with such competitions? I already do JSA competitions. sadly all my regional and national titles are cello or dance related. But i was wondering about any math or physics related ones since those are my strong suits and also what i’m interested in. See i’m having problems figuring out how to build upon architecture with some sort of impact… do you have any idea about how i would go about doing that? thank you so much for helping me

well go to a science fair and make an innovative project based on architecture and if it is good enough you will move on to the national level or state level

once this occurs it will give you more options to get prestigious internships through architecture

okay thank you so much for helping me :)))

My friend got accepted into MIT but he went to the ISEF and EUCYS science competetition and placed in both competitions says a friend of his that also had similar experiences to him was rejected which shows just how random and cutthroat the admissions are

thanks so much

Ur stats r impressive, and these schools r able to fill their entire class w people like u. Imho, set yourself apart w something u r really passionate about. Don’t do what u THINk they want. Do what inspires u to take ur passion to the next step.

My background:
I graduated MIT, also went to Harvard
Went to UCSF med school and Stanford residency.

Best wishes. Enjoy the journey.

Actually, I wouldn’t conclude so fast. A lot of MIT students don’t have those things. My humble opinion is that the whole “holistic” process makes it such a huge crapshoot that if you’ve got somewhat the stats, then you have as good chance as any. After than, international competitions like IMO and the like put you in a whole different bracket, but otherwise, it’s still a pretty big crapshoot.
