what are you planning on majoring in? thats important to determining sat ii's

i heard at Upenn, brown u can take the ACT in lieu of the sat I and Sat II's

i may do that

What do you mean recruited? Those schools only recruit athletes and occassionally will try to interest a few with national level achievement.

Aw, this poor guy thought he would get a full ride.

suze is correct. nothing in your profile indicates that you will even get into penn, brown or dartmouth. you certainly won't get recruited. sorry, it doesn't seem like you have the hook to get in with a 2210

I find it in poor taste to get us to view your post based on a lie.

What do you mean by recruited?

if you want to be recruited with those stats, try the military.

^ Pwned. Gg.

Cut the guy some slack. He has solid ECs, a tough courseload and 2210 is nothing to scoff at. No, he won't get recruited, but assuming his GPA/Rank are in the ballpark (i.e. 3.7+ UW/top 5%) he should stand a decent shot.

you're all a bunch of dumbasses, I am going to get recruited for track and field.

Thanks

runj0 -

Cut the vulgarities. There was nothing in your list of stats or ECs that told us your track and field stuff was special. So tell us about it. Have any awards? Won any state or national competitions? Have a national ranking? Made the Junior Olympic team? If you haven't, you're probably not going to be recruited by an Ivy or any other top college.

Also, although 2210 is a good SAT score, it's about average for a Upenn, Brown or Dartmouth applicant. Assuming you have about a 3.8 GPA, and you're in the top 10% of your class - which are also about average for a P, B, or D applicant - you'll have about an average chance to get in to one of these schools - 10%.

Yes I am in the top 10 in my state and I am probably going to earn a spot on the Junior olympics team if that helps

please let me know and sorry for the frustration

yea please help

^^^
thats cocky

OK then...

If you do get recruited, your stats are more than satisfactory. In fact, Upenn, Brown, and Dartmouth would be well pleased to find a recruitable athlete with academic capabilities really in the Ivy ballpark. So, if you are recruited, your stats will be an aid, not a stumbling block.

Getting recruited is another matter, however. No guarentee on that. Most of the Ivies have recruitment sign-up pages linked to their athletic department websites. To start the recruitment ball rolling, you should go to the home pages of the schools you want to apply to, find the athletic department websites, root around until you find the recruitment sign-up pages (sometimes they're hard to find) and fill them out. I guess the main idea is to let the coaches know you're interested, that you want to run track for their school, that you're a competitive athlete etc. Then keep in contact. When you go to visit the schools, set up an interview with the track coach, etc.

Considering you're in the top 10 in NJ, I'm sure you'll get the coaches attention very quickly, so go for it.

thanks for your help amptron2x i really appreciate it. I figured that if i could get a full scholarship to duke (for throwing) i should try out the ivies. (maybe princeton?)

any other help would be great
thanks

runj0: what events do you do and what are your times/marks?? I can give you your chances then...

oh, and by the way, JO's is a joke
