Ivy league Recruits?!? CLICK HERE!

As far as I know these schools seek you out if they are interested...

i throw the shotput at close to 60 '
i throw the discus at around 170'
and i throw the javelin almost 200'

"Close" to 60' and throwing 60' are world's apart. Right now the best thrower in New Jersey is Stephen D'Arcy, and his best is 56'7.5". That's still over three feet away from 60'. After that, the next best guy in Jersey is 54'8.5". That's nowhere close to 60'.

As for being recruited by Duke meaning you would be recruited for the Ivies - no way. Duke is, arguably, the worst track program in the entire NCAA. They'll take anything they can get as long as one qualifies academically. Teams like UPenn and Dartmouth have amazing teams and Penn has already finished their recruiting for this year - they've signed everyone they're going to. Brown already has some great throwers, one of my buddies throws for them and he did throw 60' in high school (Frankel - 60'1.5") and he's not even close to being their best guy.

what about yale? they have about 6 throwers, and they didnt have a good team or year...
what do you think?

I think you could definitely throw for Yale. Don't listen to what everyone else is telling you on here. Your stats are great - definitely good enough for the Ivy League. If money isn't a problem (Ivies can't give athletic scholarships, but there's ways around that :)), then you should consider throwing for Yale, Harvard, or Cornell (they have a pretty great program and need throwers).

or Harvard?

Well if you are a recruit.....

I think you have a great chance, but it seems like much more emphasis will be put on your track/field ability....

Anywho, nice job

gee thanks
i never knew upenn was so competitive i always thought princeton had the only dominant track and field program :0

UPenn shouldn't lose Heps for the next four years.
Jaworski is a threat to win NCAAs in the 800 (1:47.xx PR), and after he graduates they have Bryan Scotland and my best friend Mike Stein waiting in his wings (Scotland - 2:26 in the 1000, 1:51 in the 800; national indoor champion last year; Stein - 1:21.68 in the 600, 1:53 in the 800; all-American). They still have the 24'10" jumper and Grafton in the sprints (10.4x).
Then next year they've already signed two guys that run 47.x in the 400, a 4:16 miler, and a 48' triple jumper.

im still curious about how far you throw the shotput :)

and why do colleges recruit for shotput? do college students even show up to watch you guys throw?

i threw a best 55'11 in indoor
outdoor TSBD

and yes they may look at you and you can send them tapes etc materials to increase your recruiting chances...

damnn upenn's gonna be loaded with great athletes.... and I bet most of them will enroll in Wharton...

whoa " and yes they may look at you and you can send them tapes etc materials to increase your recruiting chances..." my bad
ur prolly right, many college students wouldnt want to watch us throw but hey, its a seat in the ivies...

i know someone who got recruited for wrestling....hes going to brown

in your opinions, which ivies have the best track programs and which have the worst? I know harvard, yale, but can you refresh the list?

Thanks

o and i think im going to substitue my 35 on my ACT in replacement for my SAT 1 and SAT II's :)

is princeton good for throwing? They're average on throwing but they have some great runners and jumpers...

Everyone knows runjO's in over his head, over his head. Everyone knows he's in over his head, over his head.
