Ivy League slanted towards minorities?

^^Some people feel that if a given race is represented at a school at a percentage other than its percentage of the overall US population then it must, by definition, have either an unfair advantage or unfair disadvantage (depending on whether it is over- or under- represented) in the admissions process.

Similarly, others feel that if the average academic stats (usually focused on SAT scores) for a given race is either higher or lower than the overall average for the entire school, then that race has either an unfair advantage or unfair disadvantage.

So some focus on percentage group representation to prove that their own race is cruelly mistreated while others focus on average SATs to prove the same thing about their race.

IMO, I think that socioeconomic AA should be in practice. Most URM’s make less than there white counterparts, and I bet the acceptance rate for upper class blacks is around the same as white/asians. We dont know. And if an Asian kid doesn’t get into his dream college(lets say Harvard), he’s in the company of 94% of other applicants. Nobody(aside from the AO’s) knows if he would have gotten in if it hadnt gone to a black kid. And if any of you have a problem with a universities policies, DON’T APPLY!! It’s as simple as that.
