Hi, I just need info for recruiting and stats for Ivy League and similar D3 schools for swimming.
I just finished my sophomore year and swim a 24.11 50 yard (3 seconds down from freshman year) and a 53.45 100 yard (down 7 seconds from freshman year).
Are these times good enough? How should I contact/ get recruited?
Check out the times from the Ivy League championship meet on collegeswimming(dot)com. You’ll need a time good enough to qualify for the C final if you want to be recruited. For the 50 free that would be <20.5 sec and for the 100 free it would be <45.0 sec.
So it looks like you have a ways to go. Nothing to do about getting recruited until you get at least close to these times.
And BTW, the Ivy’s are not D3 schools. You should also check out the NESCAC championship times. They’re a bit slower, but still faster than you’re swimming now.
If OP is male, then AsleepAtTheWheel is right. Those times are not competitive.
If OP is female, then she would probably draw some interest from Ivies but would be a strong candidate for NESCAC.
I believe the OP is male, so therefore the times are not competitive for the Ivy Leauge. But he could probably walk on as a swimmer at a small D3 school.
Yeah, for some reason I assumed he was a he.
Many of the top academic D3 schools are surprisingly fast. He could swim at somewhere like Swarthmore, but not at Chicago, Williams, Amherst, Wash U., etc.
