Ivy League Transfer... too much of a stretch?

Hello all! I’m hoping to get accepted as a transfer student to one of the Ivy League schools, but I’m not sure how I match up with other accepted students.

Here are my stats:

4.0 GPA with 64 units completed (took 18 units my previous semester and just finished off 20 units with my most recent semester, if that matters). I have two more semesters to go, will probably only take a few more classes.

I’m a political science major at a community college. None of my coursework has been crazy hard by any means, but I am part of my school’s honor program so I have taken a few honors courses.

I am a member of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa, but not very active. I am the president of my school’s political science honor society, the only organization of it’s kind among 2-year colleges.

I am my school’s Student Trustee to the Board of Trustees. I serve as the student voice for approx. 50,000 students across the district. In August I will be campaigning for president or vice president of the student-run CAST organization, which is comprised of all student trustees across California community colleges.

I am beginning to get involved in an environmental conversation effort ran by my college and I have a good shot at becoming director of the program.

I took my SAT once when I was very sick and scored 1810. I know I can score significantly higher and will spend my whole summer studying.

I have also worked two jobs my entire time in college and have fully paid for my tuition costs so far. I serve as an Account Manager to a brokerage firm (got title at age 17) and I’m also a Service Dispatcher. I work approx 25-35 hours a week, even when school is in session.

Drawback: I’ve taken courses from about 6 different community colleges in order to finish on time with my busy schedule. I feel this might look as if I can’t commit to one school… my counselor advised I mention in my application that I am ready to commit to one school.

Any advice as far as boosting my resume and chances to get in to any of the Ivy League schools? I haven’t found much info online about what students have done to get accepted as a transfer.

You’ll need to see if your potential universities will consider an SAT taken while you are in college. I’ve only read of a couple that do (since the test is designed for HSers).

Why that one athletic conference? The %age of transfers taken at those schools is usually lower than the %age admitted as freshmen. What is your in-state flagship?

Like we say to all who ask…certainly apply to an ivy but have other more realistic options open (e.g. your state flagship).
