Ivy League

I am a high school student graduating from Nepal. I am a +2 student graduating in August and will apply for the Fall of 2017. Regarding my academics, I got 75.2% in 11 and I predict my grade 12 score to be 80-82%. I definitely can get 1450+ in the SAT but aiming to score much higher.

Regarding community services, I don’t have much(hardly anything ) to show. I worked in raising awareness about girls trafficking to school students, done a few blood donations here and there, took part in environmental awareness and cleaning campaigns. Over the next few months, I will be doing much volunteering services.

I was the captain of the School Football Team for 2 years, was the class leader for some years too. I have won Debate and Essays competitons within the school and high school . I have won Inter-school Science Quiz and grabbed third prize in Math Quiz which was organized by one of the top high school in the country.

I think I will get decent recommendations from my teachers(8/10) and from my high school counsellor(9/10). I think my application essay will be definitely be good.

What are my chances in Ivy-League Schools and other colleges which provide need-based aid? What colleges should I apply to? What will be the safe ones?

you will certainly get need-based aid from top schools. Whatsoever, about 20000 students apply to Ivy league colleges and 2000 get accepted. Out of those 20000 students, about 9000-10000 have a prefect SAT score and a 4 out of 4 gpa. So, they don’t go for your SAT and GPA, they want a special achievement or participation in your field of study. Like an olympiad participant or Internation award winners. If you wanna get in, you have have sth which very few people in the world have. They give huge importance to articles posted in national newspaper. you might want to look into prepscholar.com
