Ivy Leagues- SAT or ACT or both?

Hello!
I am a junior questioning whether I should take the SAT this coming June. This would be my first SAT taken. However, SAT and SAT II Subject Tests are on the same days so if I end up taking the SAT, I wouldn’t be able to take the SAT. My ACT score is a 32 after two tries so hoping I can get it to improve.
I hope to go to an Ivy League so was wondering should I take the SAT this June or just try to keep on improving my ACT? Are SATs looked on as more prestigious? Is it better to have both compared to one over the other?

If I don’t take the SAT in June then Oct would be my hope and I will be a senior and it’s a bad idea to start taking your SATs your senior year right? However if I do take the SAT in June then I would have to wait a couple of months before taking SAT II over junior year classes.
Please help me in deciding. Is it better to have both SAT and ACT?

Some people do better on ACT, some on SAT. If you are good at sorting out vague questions, SAT might be for you. I’d take a few practice tests on both and see which one works better for you. Otherwise SAT vs ACT does not matter for colleges.

As far as timing, you should check with the colleges you plan on applying to on the cut-off dates, which might range from October to January, depending on early or regular admission cycles. It does not matter when you take the tests as long as you meet the deadline.

The only reason that you must have SAT is if you scored above the PSAT cut-off for your state and want to apply for NMS Finalist.

@TooOld4School I took the ACT with writing and got a 10. Should I retake the ACT w/ writing in June or just the ACT? Can I use my junior year ACT writing score for applications even though composite was a 32?

No, you have to take the ACT with writing.
