Ivy Leagues

Hi, I am currently a sophomore in high school and I am worried about my college acceptance standing. I am currently in 13 clubs with leadership positions hopefully to come. I have gotten A minuses and As up till this year and might be getting 1-2 Bs. I am confident I can get As in the coming years b/c I just stumbled with AP classes. I am currently enrolled in 4 AP classes and I will take 13 more in the coming years. I play piano and swim as well. I also play chess competitively and have won multiple awards. I have a 32 ACT atm and a 215 PSAT. Do I have any chance of getting into an Ivy League even with the Bs? And also, what effect do A minuses have on a college app?

I also have about 100 hours of volunteering

Your forethought is laudable, but it is quite premature for anyone currently to offer an evaluation. You need to take the most demanding curriculum your high school offers and – even more important – to excel at it. You probably should repost a similar question in about 16 to 18 months.

(and, incidentally, Ivy League is singular – there is only one – as in: “there are eight Ivy League universities” or “the Ivy League’s admission standards are stringent”)

Do you suggest I quit some? Or should I just make sure I have good time management?

Quit some. Put more effort into a few. Show depth of interest rather than breadth.

“Do you suggest I quit some?” : Actually, OP, you should quit most of them; try to reduce your club membership by about 2/3. WasatchWriter above has very good comments, and the advice from Yale quoted by arwarw should be taken to heart.
