ivy to ivy transfer

glogg - were you rejected by Yale as a senior in HS? If so, I believe it will be that much more difficult to transfer as a freshman transfer applicant.

hey if you are a freshman whom are you getting your recs from?
so what is this subject that you want to major in now?

justaparent: why so? They reopen your freshman applications?

The very first question on the Yale transfer application asks whether you've applied to Yale before, what year, and was it incoming freshman or transfer.

yes but how much of the information do they use from your freshman application?

Availability of courses is not a precondition to acquiring an interest - though it does help; my previous school did not offer any substantive courses in philosophy, but what incited my interest was personal reading.

Fair enough. It just seems odd to me; I'd be wary of transfering into something that is probably super-specialized. I wish the OP mentioned the program -- then it probably would have made more sense to me.

My personal reccomendation, if the OP is a freshman, is to talk to someone about visiting student programs to a school that is not Yale and offers the subject. I'd want a feel of how it's taught in the classroom setting before I considered transferring.

Yeah, it must be fairly specific - it's hard to believe Brown doesn't offer courses in it. Im very interested in knowing what it is too
