Which ivies ended their admission cycle? Which ones used waitlists? Which ones have active extended waitlists? Are there any statistics out there on number of people on waitlists or deadlines for admission cycle to end. Two of my son’s friends are still clinging to hope in limbo and i feel for them, no honest information given by schools to these kids.
It seems Princeton and Yale ended their process, probably Harvard as well?
Anyone on a waitlist should move ahead with their plans and assume that they will attend the school they deposited at.
@happy1 My son’s best friend who is like a child to me, insists on hanging there in limbo. I’m sure there are other kids like him who are looking for closure.
You have another thread with this same basic discussion. IMO both the colleges and the applicants have the right to do what is best for them - if a person cannot move forward in a positive manner while on a waitlist then he/she would be best to not accept a place.
Tell me about it but he is an optimist. Anyway, there is no harm in trying to find out if there is any waitlist activity going on, probably all applicants have a secured spot but they are waiting to take care of the paperwork and payments until its final. Some kids are trying to decide between full rides at state schools and full or significant pay at Ivies, for them aligning finances would be easier if they know earlier.
