Sister goes to Princeton

Let me know please!

I think you have a great shot. Can you tell me how yopu got so high SAT scores?

I didn't... lol You should be asking the people who got 2300+!!!

i would kill for a 2200. My stats/ ecas/ comm serv. / rec letters/awards are great. My SAT scores may present a red flag. Not to brag or anything, but i am afraid my SAT scores may get me rejected and destroy my four years of hope and effort.

cryptic_fate: DONT THINK LIKE THAT... think about what makes you special and don't give up just because of a lousy SAT score. It has been proven that you do not NEED it to get into HYPSM; preferred, but not a MUST

well actually they are my dream school and I am trying my best to gte into them. obviously i also intend to applying to non-ivies like Mit,duke, amhearst, stanford, northwester and so on.

SantasHelper
what state are you from?

cryptic_Fate, i am in the EXACT position as you!! everything for me is just great, except my standardized test scores. they're a bit too low, but i'm planning to retake in June, hoping for a great boost in score.

ivies are a reach.. but i say you have a great shot

hey, did anyone start coming on college confidential, AFTER they got into college...?

yeah, strangely enough, I stumbled onto this forum after I'd submitted all of my apps and was just waiting for the good/bad news.

i had already known about it, at gov school in july, i roomed with thisguy who stayed on this site instead of going out and actually meeting new people, and he played starcraft all the time... hey buddy if u readthis, im me...

lol thread hijacker.... So what does everyone else think?

"thread hijacker" LOL.
i think.. you have exact same stats as me, and i hope our apps arent next to each other. your pretty darn good in math... dang

Ok...Ivies are a total reach for everyone. Test scores aren't everything. I think you have a great chance of getting in anywhere, and even if you don't get into Princeton, you can be just as happy at another school. Just do what you can, you have so much going for you. I can't wait until the day we all look back on this and realize how big of a fuss everyone was making about this college admissions crap (I hope).

I'm just gonna be the positive-outlook fairy and leave nice little posts.

izalou
i always think people make a big fuss about it

Exactly, right? The point is that there is no formula for student admissions, colleges are random I guess. I love how quickly people respond to these posts. It's exciting...I'm already getting addicted. Crumflake: what state are you from?

Santashelper- you have good stats, but you should apply to some safety schools. College admissions can be random.

Santa-

My advice would be ED Princeton. Also, apply to UMichigan WAY early. That way if you get into Princeton you are done, if you get deferred you still will have Michigan in the pocket.

If this happens, You have an excellent shot but you need more schools. I think you are basically in at NU and Cornell though. You might look to add a couple more top schools like Duke, Penn, Dartmouth, etc just to broaden your potential choices slightly.
