J.d/m.b.a

I know that most MBA programs require applicants to have atleast 2 years of work experience before applying, but I was wondering if they still have that requirement if you want to get a JD/MBA right out of undergrad?

Yes, they do. You apply to each program separately, your application to each program will be separately reviewed on its own merits and you must be admitted to each program. At many of the top programs, the law school and the business schools do not even find out that you’ve applied to a joint program until and unless you are admitted to both programs.

Would 2 years in the peace corp satisfy that requirement?

At most top programs, applicants typically have between 5-7 years of experience before applying.

I can’t possibly tell you whether 2 years in the Peace Corps would meet any work-related requirement. Typically, business schools will be looking for applicants who have made an impact in their jobs, who have advanced in their careers and who have developed skills and knowledge that will add to classroom and group discussions. Most business school applicants provide recommendation letters from employers, clients and colleagues. Again, I can’t say how two years in the Peace Corps would pan out in the application process.

I can tell you that in my business school class, the couple of people who had been in the Peace Corps also had additional work experience before they joined my cohort at business school.
