Jack Kent Cooke 2018-2019 Undergradate Transfer Scholarship

I was sent an email asked for financial information, it is kinda weird since I uploaded all my tax forms.

I also received an email asking for more financial information today.

Hello
I am new here. I am also a semifinalist. I also received more information. Initially, I thought it was only financial information, but I just checked out and they are asking if we have applied to schools yet. Since they also talk about next phase, I am unsure of what this means. I do not want to jump to conclusions yet.
Thank you for creating this. It’s really good to be in touch :slight_smile:

I think it can be safely said that they are “moving on” to some next phase of applicants throughout this week, or longer. I’ve already submitted on my first go most of the information they are asking of me right now, but I see it as a nice way of keeping them updated with financials. I think the fact that they are also asking for the list of colleges you’re applying to is somewhat telling.

It’s good to see some new faces popping out! Welcome :)) These next few weeks tend to get a little more intense, but we’ll make it. The Foundation is going super fast this year with the process.

@LeonardoRuales I noticed that they asked if we know what schools we will be attending in the Fall, but that doesn’t make much sense to me as most college transfer applications aren’t due until March 1st, and decisions don’t happen until April-June.

@exnihilonihilfit I just put every college I’m applying to and selected “Waiting to hear” . In my last lovely run-in with transfer admissions last year, all of my decisions were released throughout May.

@AGoodFloridian Thank you. You are right. I just get nervous every time I got an email from them. I love your profile pic btw. The Beatles are the best!!!
@exnihilonihilfit I think it is the best thing to do by selecting waiting to hear. It is as you said silly to ask for the colleges although the applications are released later. Furthermore, they haven’t asked for our fall grades.
Where are you guys from btw?

Oh wow everyone has been receiving the email requesting for more financial information. I really hope I do as well. Do you think the foundation will keep sending them randoming, or is it safe to assume the ones who didn’t receive the email can be counted out ??? I’m praying I’m still in this!!!

I just called and they said that they will be sending out emails in the next 2 weeks !

@unique99 The finances email, right?

That’s good to know actually- those who haven’t received the email shouldn’t feel discouraged then.

@AGoodFloridian yes that one!

Not receiving an email for further information does NOT mean you are counted out. It just means that they already have all the information they need about you. I have read forums from previous years where persons did not receive any emails asking for additional information, and they ended up getting the scholarship.

@Kingkong97 I agree. The strange thing is that some of the semi-finalists from my college received an e-mail a week or two after the semi-finalist email, also asking about financials, or incomplete documents. But the wording of that email is different than the one some people received this week (i.e., no mentioning of a “next phase”.) A lot of the information they ask for in this email has already been provided (some of it was even filled out already).

It’s important to note that people from previous years called the Foundation and they said that there’s no correlation between emails and acceptances.

@AGoodFloridian No correlation at all. Because the thing is, I do not think I will get an email asking for financials. I made it clear in the application that I have no tax forms or anything. The only things they will probably ask me for are my fall grades and schools.

I’m just new here; however, I am a semi finalist. So I am asking if those that have not gotten an email for more documentation still have an opportunity to receive this scholarship because I have not received any email.

I did not receive the email either. A bit discouraging but hopefully it is like a few of you mentioned…That it doesn’t mean we are out of the race. :frowning:

So I am new in here. I am also a semifinalist too for the JCK foundation scholarship. My parent submitted the financial form yesterday but there is a mistake. Do you think JKC will let them correct the mistake and return it again?

@quincarol I’m sure they will since it’s still well before the deadline. Send them an e-mail with the detailed corrections . If you want to make sure beforehand, just give them a call, they’re very friendly.

@TexasRosé_ we can’t have the most cheerful person here being discouraged :)) I wouldn’t recommend looking through past year’s threads, but if you already have, you’ll see that there were finalists who didn’t receive any sort of e-mail. The “speculations” come about as the anxiety rises, it’s pretty normal on this site.

@AGoodFloridian I really appreciate the reassurance. It definitely does no good to speculate and freak out any further. lol. I’d like to keep up the cheerfulness to be honest. :slight_smile:

Same, an email would be reassuring, but at the end of the day it’s still too early to say anything. I told myself to be at peace with whatever the outcome, and I suppose now is the time to put this into action.
