I truly hope so @valerienyc! I am excited for good things to happen soon. Take care!
@Jane31 you will be fine. Scholars get to be finalist without the interview. I was interviewed last year but I didnât get into the program. The review all applications holistically and will make the best decision regarding students that will be JKC scholars. Keep pushing and hang on tight. Success is ahead
Thank you so much, @Guru123! I wish you the best of luck! Have a great day.
How does the JKC Foundation normally inform students, individually and collectively, about their final decisions? I believe decisions will be disclosed through an email. I was informed about the semifinalist decision by email. Are decisions posted on the candidate portal or their website?
They will inform you via email by May 15th the latest. This year is not following the normal flow of admissions . Good luck
I wish theyâd make their decisions already!
We are wish but these are unprecedented times so I kind of understand. So @valerienyc when will you hear from the schools you applied to.
@Guru123: I heard back from Columbia GS today. Iâm in!
I need to know whatâs up with this scholarship!
Chirps chirps
You will definitely hear from them soon. As per say in 3 weeks times all this process will be done. May 15 th is the last date but the announcements might come earlier
Hi @everyone: Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke with a Cooke Transfer Scholarship campus representative who told me decisions are expected to be released in mid-May, a little later than usual. At least now I can stop expecting news in April.
@valerienyc it might be earlier than mid may hopefully it is
The group chat on Instagram is full so everyone is welcome to drop and leave replies in here for inquiries. Letâs celebrate each other right here (#acceptances)
Hello everyone! Sorry for posting about this again.
Has anyone not received an interview? I am not excepting to hear from them about an interview anymore, and can only hope I have a chance at this.
Thank you and take care!
Hey @Jane31 I know plenty semifinalist who did not receive the interview request. That doesnât define if you will be finalist or not. According to past years thread people got into the program without no interview. We can only hope for the best and wait to see the result by May 15th.
Dear @Guru123, thank you so much for always being so kind and considerate. I truly hope so and wish you also become a finalist. Take care, and thank you again!
Thank you Amazing @Jane31 hopefully we make it all to the final line .
HI @everyone: I asked the official JKCF campus rep about interviews (if finalists will be interviewed) and she responded:
âThey have in the last couple of years included this component.â
Just thought Iâd share that. Take care and have a great week!
Indeed having many recipients being interviewed, nobody shouldnât be panicking if he did not get one especially as in previous years finalists have been selected without no interview and even people that got interviewed also got rejected( I am a typical example) . Letâs just keep pushing and see how everything goes my people
Hi @everyone: I reached out to the JKCF to ask about interviews. Thought everyone here would appreciate reading their response. Here it is:
âWe have invited a few semifinalists to interview with our staff. However, we are only able to offer interviews to a small number of applicants. As such, the interview is not a strongly weighted part of the selection process.
We have not yet announced the finalists for the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. While we do not have an exact date when we will notify applicates, we hope to announce the new cohort of Cooke Scholars in May. All notifications will be sent via email.â
