I thought it isn’t possible to get both this scholarship and the UNCF one?
@GreaserGyal I had not heard that. I listed the UNCF as one of the other scholarships I’d applied for on my JRF app. I would hope that isn’t true because that might impact their decision to select me as a finalist. I’m going to pray that’s not true. I thought they would only disqualify you if all your need is met. I read that on another thread.
i’m pretty sure among us one of the scholars has a UNCF scholarship. you’re all good.

I haven’t heard anything, but when you guys log into your JRF portal do you see something that says Application 2017-2018 and Award Application 2017-2018? I thought that was weird because I never saw it before.
@qmusic, yes, I have the same thing. I know it was there a couple of weeks ago.
@QMusic @Ceciliaagnes I have those same links on my app portal home page under the header “start a new form”.
Did anyone else receive a call today to verify application information? I got that today and the lady said to look out for an email that should be sent by Saturday.
@QMusic Not me. I got a call today from a number I didn’t recognize but they didn’t leave a message. I wonder if they are verifying with all applicants or just those who are moving on to the next phase. I hope this is a good sign for you. Good luck to you.

@QMusic Did they schedule an interview or was it just confirming info on your app. And I’m not sure if we will hear at the same time because you’re in a different region from me. But fingers crossed.
I don’t know where everybody is from, but I think I remember that in the past, California people (UCLA) have heard first.
@Ceciliaagnes @CountOlaf I’m from SC and they didn’t schedule an interview. They just confirmed info on my app like contact information, asked where I planned to enroll, etc.
@Ceciliaagnes @QMusic yes I’ve heard that too about Cali. I’m in NC which is Midatlantic Region. Even though SC is right next door we are in different regions. We will see whether anything comes out on Sunday April 30.
Guys, I woke up to an email saying that I was named a semifinalist and will have an interview on May 6th. I am so excited about it!
@BlackHuntress do you have any tips on interview poise and etiquette (ie how formal to dress, how early to arrive, etc.)? Also, do you remember any information on the logistics of the interview (how long it last, wait/check-in process if any, how many people will interview you, etc.)? Thanks!
