Jackson Lab Program Question

Hi,
I have been looking for weeks for good summer science internships for high school students that provide housing and a stipend. Jackson Lab is so far the only one that meets everything I am looking for. However, I am aware admission is extremely competitive and I have no prior research/science awards. Do you think I still have a shot, even if I articulate my interests and ambitions well? Also, if you know of any other summer program for high school students that pays and provides housing for free or at a minimal cost, please let me know! Thanks!

…anyone??

Haha sorry for posting so late but umm…i think you have a decent chance? I applied with an insanely low GPA but amazing scores (2200+) and the fact that my father worked at Jackson Laboratory and established a great relationship with one of the professors there (the professor ended up writing his rec. letter to Columbia!). So I’m kinda hoping I’ll get in. Good luck.

hey guys i applied too, have any of you heard back yet??

I’ve applied this year too but I haven’t heard anything. I don’t think I’ll get in though

ahhh its really competitive and we’re competing against college students!
what are your stats??

has anyone heard anythinggggg?

When are we supposed to hear back?

I wrote down “Late March” on my calendar, but I don’t remember where I got that date from… I’m assuming either from the Jackson Lab site or from creeping on past CC threads or something.

“Late March” is on the Jackson Lab website. That’s still a pretty wide range though. :)

I was wondering if anyone has heard back, looking at the threads from previous years it seems like people should have already found out . . .

I think in previous years the acceptance letters were to be sent “Mid-March” hence the appearance of a lag this year. Has anyone emailed Randy Jackson concerning admittance notices yet? I haven’t received a reply or an acceptance notice, and have another summer program waiting (JAX is my first choice, though)…this is nerve wracking

Just heard back via phone. Anyone else working with Dr. Blake?

Congrats!!!

dp2012, are you a college or high school student? and do you know if all the accepted people have been contacted already?

:( :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :(

I received an acceptance call today
I’ll definitely be accepting the wonderful offer …

Nope. I’m working with Dr. Li!
