Jackson Lab

So, has anyone heard from them yet? It says the decision will come out Mid-March...I didn't get any email..so, I guess i've been rejected..oh well.

Nope, no one's received anything yet.

I applied to this as well. How competitive is it compared to programs like Simons?

Even more competitive.... cuz Simons is 15% for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS... Jax Labs, according to last year's estimate was less than 10% and we're also competing against college students

yeah..prtty darn selective.
well best of luck to everyone..and hope you guys will let me know if you receive anything!

did you guys have a lot of previous lab experience?

yes. one internship at brown. and now at columbia

how did you get those?

connections?

azn junior: I'm not sure if you're interested , but I went to LA to do research last summer. I got the opportunity off of High School Internships. It's a really comprehensive website and this part focuses on just for hs students, which I am assuming you are...? I didn't get into Jackson Lab last summer (summer after junior year), but I'm trying again this year after having done some research.

Best of luck to you!!! And everyone else! Waiting is a pain!!!

Thanks, unfortunately, all the due dates have either passed or I'm not eligible

Institute for Educational Advancement - Apprenticeship Program

Aznjunior: Here's the one I went to last year. the deadline is coming up soon, but it was absolutely amazing!!! Don't worry about the finances because they have financial aid. You live with students who will have their internship at the art center, and many other places.

Last year there were 2 spots for the hospital. I loved it there!!! PM if you need any help!

got the rejection letter today! Not a problem. Hope you guys have better luck. California here I come!!!

yep I got the rejection too,

thanks for the link but my parent's won't pay that much for it, I think I'm going to do some local stuff

I got in! but got placed in immunology -_- that was my last choice. guess i'll just do other stuff this summer

wait was the acceptance/rejection came in regular mail?!

yep..i got mine too..rejected...haha oh well.
yeah i had a lot of research experience and won couple national awards for those..but anyway...congratz to whoever got into that and have fun!
