Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program

yeah, I got a phone call today in addition to the email. Perhaps you still have a chance hamsi if someone chooses not to go?

this makes me really sad :(

Are all of the decisions finalized?

I emailed them saying I'd go, their autoreply email they sent said:

"This automatic email message is to inform summer student applicants that "accepted" students have already been notified by telephone and email. All students who were not accepted will be receiving a letter in the mail within the next two weeks. We apologize for the delay in the notification process, but we had a record number of 414 applications this year which slowed things down."

looks like they are finalized...

jj are you a senior or a junior? If you're a senior did you apply to any summer programs junior year like rsi?

yes, I'm a senior. I went to a program the summer after junior year that is basically the same thing as RSI, except for one more week and at MSU--it's called HSHSP. I sent Jax a copy of my abstract, I think. It probably helped that I worked in a genetics/horticulture lab, since Jax is all about genetics. If anyone is a junior and still wants to apply to HSHSP, I wrote a thread about it earlier, the deadline is April 1. You do not get a stipend like with Jax, but it is still an excellent experience, I would recommend it to anyone who is seriously interested in doing research and being around a group of very motivated and interesting individuals. PM me/post if you have any questions.
