@oboeboy1917 My best hope would be that they go in reverse alphabetical order, ha!
@albertsax - That works for us! My son’s name begins with an A…lol!!
Oof. Maybe!
Well, last night I had a dream that I got an acceptance from Jacobs. Let’s hope it comes true for all of us today!
@albertsax We can hope! Hopefully it comes today and not tomorrow, haha.
Nothing again today! I’m getting really, really frustrated.
@albertsax @RMSqueencat Should I call? I was told early to mid-March originally, and it’s almost April.
@oboeboy1917 If you call they could tell you whether the letter was mailed out yet.
@oboeboy1917 Wow, so frustrating. When we went to audition weekend on 3/2, we sat in on the information session which was for all music school applicants. The admissions people said 2-3 weeks. During my son’s interview later that day, he was told by April 1st. I guess you could call, but they’ll probably say they were all mailed. I think these colleges used bulk mail delivery which is painfully slow. I’m sorry you have to wait yet another day. I’ll let you know after our mail arrives today.
Alright, I’ll probably be waiting until Monday to call. Keep me updated!
Nothing again today. My essay coach suggested we call and see if they can give the decision over the phone, since it’s been so late. It would definitely be nice to find out in March….
@oboeboy1917 Well, my dad called them and they agreed to send me my rejection letter by email. Good luck to both of you!
D received a rejection to Indiana today. She had already ruled them out but it would have been nice to get in and may have made her reevaluate. Shame on them for making kids wait this long for a rejection! I don’t think D will be applying to grad school to Jacobs. On a happy note, D got into her number one choice of Mannes and her number 2 choice gave her a great scholarship. Moving on…
@oboeboy1917 Ugh, I’m so sorry. I understand how disappointing it is. I’m feeling pretty pessimistic right now for my son. Got an email from IU about exploring academic options. At least you know and can move on. Best of luck with whatever lies ahead for you.
@sunnysar I’m sorry for the rejection, and I couldn’t agree more. Terrible to hold rejections to the last day. I’m happy your D got into her #1. This was #1 for my S. Still don’t know, but not feeling confident. He will rebound from this I’m sure if it is in fact a rejection. Best of luck to your D.
@oboeboy1917 @albertsax @sunnysar Mail just came - nothing…ugh!!!
@sunnysar So sorry about that. I’m glad everything is going to work out for the better. I’m just worried about what this means about the prospects for the rest of us. Are we all just waiting forever for a rejection also? If so, I would agree that it’s unkind to send the rejections last.
@RMSqueencat Hope it comes tomorrow. We’re done. D is going with her second choice school ahead of Jacobs. She received great merit and music scholarships equivalent to full tuition. Not as highly ranked as Jacobs but the teacher and studio are amazing and a much better fit for my D. Have you been on the Music Major forum? It’s mostly parents with lots of good advice and lots of parents in the same boat.
@oboeboy1917 Fingers crossed for you. Do you have any acceptances? If D didn’t have this amazing studio that’s a perfect fit for her she’d be doing a gap year. A year of no distractions would make a world of difference.
@sunnysar I do. I’m accepted into a state school, Lawrence University, and I got an email from Carnegie Mellon University saying that I’m into the music program, so I’m hopeful about that, considering I hear back for sure from CMU tomorrow. Jacobs isn’t my first choice in all honesty, but it would be nice to have more options.
