Hi, I am a high school senior and I applied to JSoM for the fall 2012 semester. (composition major)
On the application, I gave them my preferred audition date as January 13-14.
I have been waiting for their answer to whether I'll be able to audition on my preferred date (or even wheter they'll let me audition or not) but I haven't received any notification yet.

It says "All other applicants will be contacted regarding an on-campus audition or interview as soon as all application materials have been received and reviewed, but not later than 30 days prior to your selected audition / interview weekend." on their website, so that leaves me two more days.

Could anyone tell me what is going on?
What should I do? Just wait?

My son is in the exact same situatio-same school-same major-same audition date request- and we need to make airline reservations soon. We emailed yesterday but have not heard back yet.

June Bug, I am curious if you are comfortable saying where else you are applying. You can p.m. me if you like. Thanks. We are waiting to hear from another prescreening as well. Waiting is stressful.

Good luck to this year’s group of composition students! Enjoy the auditions - it’s a terrific experience to meet with all the composers at the universities/conservatories. One that won’t ever be forgotten, I think.

I’m in a similar situation except I’m a Recording Arts applicant so it’s not a given that I’ll get to the audition (interview) stage in the first place. I requested Jan 13-14 as well.

Ugh, I’m kind of terrified of calling/e-mailing them and finding out that way that I wasn’t selected for an interview…

My son also got a composition audition at Jacobs and is very pleased. He will also audition on cello. Congratulations to all of you.
Now we are still waiting to hear from Eastman.

Son’s first response, audition/interview for composition at Jacobs in February (piano). Come to find out the Superbowl is the same weekend in Indianapolis, so everything is crowded & expensive, even in Bloomington, ah well. We’re really looking forward to the trip!
