Does anyone know what kind of SAT score is needed to get into Jacobs with a full scholarship(covering room and board)? And approximatly how many applicants do they admit each year from a country.

i don’t think any school looks at just SAT scores while awarding scholarships…

correct me if i’m wrong, though :)

yeah you are right, I should have phrased it like this what type of SAT score is needed to get a scholarship considering u have good grades and are solid in the extra curricular department

Jacobs is a need-blind school and you can get need-based aid up to full-tuition and room & board; but the minimum EFC is around 1,500 euros. BUT the major problem in Jacobs is the loan… if you want a full scholarship, it comes with a loan tag ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 euros p.a and let me remind you that the interest rate is pretty hefty as well. However, if you are qualified for the academic scholarship, the loan amount will reduce. Though the loan factor is a bit discouraging, many students there do claim that the investment is worth it…

About the SAT, its always better to have a 1400+ but then many of my friends have made it there with low-1200s as well.

I don’t think they limit the number of admits from a country. This year from Nepal, there were more than 7 students who got accepted in the 1st round itself.

Should i have 1400 + on just Critical reading and maths or is the writing section included in the total result, because i have a Total of 1480 points, 630 on Maths, 450 Writing and 400 C.Reading, can i get accepted there and can i get a decent Financial Aid.

Thanks in advance.

^ i don’t know how you’re going to get a student visa with only a 400 in reading.

I don’t think 400 is a decent score in CR. And in case of Jacobs too, it won’t be that easy to get accepted with just 400. You need to get at least around 600 in CR and 700 above in mathematics to be in a safe side. Before applying to Jacobs, learn more about loans. They will drown you in loans!

I had got a letter saying that 600+ in CR and 700+ in Maths would automatically allow me for a need blind admission policy.

You do understand that need blind only means they will not look at your finances to decide whether or not to admit you, right? It does not mean they will give you full aid.

They do give full aid and they meet full demonstrated need of every student but we are talking about LOANS!!! They give you “full aid” which mainly comprises of LOAN!

How about a 2400?

^I hear getting a 2400 twice helps with the chances even more.

does Jacobs University has “super-score” policy with the SAT test? I took the test 2 times (this Nov, and Dec) and scored :

CR: 480 and 590
Math: 750 and 630
Writing: 550 and 700

will they look only for my highest section scores ?

and what kind of loans are we talking about here?

I don’t know about the super-score policy but I can tell you that the loan is really heavy. Its Educational Loan we are talking about. Think seriously before applying to Jacobs. Being a need blind college is not everything. The amount of grant provided by Jacobs is really low.

who else is in round 1 awaiting their response from jacobs univesity?

hey there!

i applied in round 1 as well, where are you from? I’m soooo nervous, I so hope to get in!

I got in JUB…i am from Nepal…however the aid decisions will be given in Feb 2012…i wonder if they will meet the full need. I had 2030 in SATs and 3 subject tests…any suggestions??

Anybody in Round II ??? Decisions should come up soon

What interesting pictures do most people upload? Cartoons, family photos or personal photos? I might just put a wedding photo
