I am interested in applying to JMU, but I'm not sure if I would be accepted. I am currently a high school junior, have a 3.76 weighed GPA, will have 6 AP classes completed by graduation, hold many leadership positions (Jazz Band section leader, team member/captain on the Varsity Swim and Soccer Teams, often get lead roles in school plays), and hold membership in three Honor Societies (English, Tri-M, and National Junior). Do I have a chance of attending JMU? Please be honest with me, I can take the truth! Also, their Intelligence Analysis major is very attractive to me because I am planning on trying to work for a government agency like the FBI or CIA. Is their Intelligence Analysis program any good, or should I focus on another major like International Relations? Any feedback you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks again!

OP, the people at the JMU forum will be better prepared to help you. Take your question there. <a href=“James Madison University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/james-madison-university/

What is your UW gpa? What is your SAT or ACT score? Did you check that you have all the required courses to meet admission requirements?

I don’t know anything about Intelligence Analysis majors, but if you look at the pages on FBI they tell you what they are looking for and what the critical education is. Are you interested in a Special Agent or Professional Staff position? They are very interested in CS and Accounting and critical foreign languages and others. See the pages
