James Madison University- What are my chances?

@JamesMadison Im an out of state resident with a 3.3 GPA. I had a weak freshman and sophomore year with an average of an 85 (3.2). Junior year I stepped up my game and ended the year with a 4.0. I have a rigorous schedule my senior year with AP Chemistry and AP Economics. I had an SAT score of 1650. I have done Gymnastics, Diving and Track throughout High school. I have been a Girl Scout since 1st Grade, and work in a restaurant as well. JMU is my top choice, and would love any reassurance or information regarding how strong of a candidate I may be. Thank You.

i will chance you back!

I think you have a chance but I would have a safety school in mind for a backup plan too. Your SAT score is a little on the low side for JMU but the upward trend in your gpa will be looked on favorably. Is your class rank in the top third of your class as is the case of, i think i read 87% of last year’s freshman class? During your underclassmen days, were your classes also rigorous? If you applied EA that might help. One thing that will help, in my opinion, is being out of state. I almost hate to say it but the fact that you will pay higher tuition then an in state student might also work in your favor. As I said, I think you have a chance of getting in but in my opinion, it’s probably only about 50/50.

thank you!! (:
