James Madison vs Penn State

Recently I’ve been accepted to both the jmu business school and the psu business school. being that psu is closer, because i live in pa, it seems more practical. also, they have my particular program as a 5 year option, which i don’t think/know if jmu has. i know a ton of people at penn state, but when i visited jmu i fell in love with it. I’m very lost as to where to go because i love both colleges, while feeling more comfortable about penn state but really wanting to go to james madison. any advice?

Smeal is very good and cheaper. PSU. You’ll like it there, like most other people who go to college.

JMU would not be worth the price difference IMO. PSU is the more nationally recognized of the two schools anyway. Good luck!

^Agreed. Smeal is a great business school and it doesn’t make sense to go to JMU if you can go to Penn State at in-state prices.

go where you are more comfortable. If you make a mistake, transferring is always an option, ask yourself which is a move you would feel better about - being at PSU and transferring to JMU, or being at JMU and transferring to PSU?

Will your parents pay the OOS rates for JMU?

thanks everyone, that helped a lot. i agree, penn state all the way

The JMU undergrad school is REALLY good like goldman saches, JP Morgan, and the crew include them in the Va tour of w&m uva and richmond because of the school’s strong program in quantitative finance. http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/rankings#5

PSU is one of the highest priced in-state universities in the country, not that much less than OOS at JMU.

PSU is not cheap even for instate, I don’t know why people keep thinking this.
