James Madison

I Know ill be accepted to MSU but i applied to james madison november 5th, does anyone know how full james madison is/ if thats too late? because thats the only interest i have in the university is at james madison, but i plan on attending if accepted

Honestly, I think that’s way too late. I got rejected (albeit 3 years ago) from James Madison after sending my application in on Nov. 1, but accepted to the University. Of course I had no interest in the school beyond that program, so I declined my acceptance.

Madison is (almost) always full by the first week of November.

Eh, it’ll be really really close. The good news is, you go on a waiting list and then may be accepted at any time. Plus, a LOT of kids drop first semester so you can transfer in at some point. You can also get overrides to take freshmen classes under special circumstances (being on the waiting list may or may not be one depending on the prof).

^^^ I applied in September as a international studies major, found out about James Madison in late november and sent a panicky email begging them to change my major. They did, no problem (i don’t know if this is because of my email, the fact that I’m in the honors college or just that they still had room available). Madison may be full temporarily sometime in November, but students change their majors at AOP, right before classes start etc. so you can switch into James Madison really at any time (you just have to be really pushy about it, even if they say that it’s full…it’s really not). And as romani said worst come to worst, it is relatively easy to switch into james madison after 1st semester.

You should be fine. I didn’t even know what the heck James Madison was until last February at ADS, and they were able to switch me halfway into the month, no problem. It may be full right now, but I can guarantee you that some people will switch out. Good luck! :-)
