<p>Has Illinois notified DGS admits whether they've got the honors program or not? I know that CS majors have been notified, but what about DGS?</p>

<p>I heard from admissions that all James Scholar letters have been sent out…</p>
<p>I’m not wholly clear on how one ends up in DGS, other than when one is admitted there as a second-choice option. Now I would think that anyone admitted into his second-choice would almost certainly not qualify for the James Scholar program.</p>
<p>I applied for DGS since I wasn’t sure about my major. That’s how people end up there!</p>
<p>My son was initially deferred and then placed in his second choice major in engineering and also qualified as a James Scholar. We learned shortly after the 2/18 date for admissions.</p>
