<p>The answer is y<0 because when you subtract a negative, you are really adding it. When you add a negative, you subtract. That would cause the right side of the inequality to be greater, which matches the sign.</p>

it was something like (x+y)squared + (x-y) squared or something… and choices were x has to be odd, y has to be odd , xy has to be odd, x+y has to be odd.. I might have written the question completely wrong but I know I put x+y as my answer. Does someone remember the question? can you write the solution too?</p>

<p>^ I agree. It was x<em>x + x</em>y = x(x+y) and it had to be odd. Only way is when both are odd. (if you can’t figure that out, just pick random odd and even numbers and you’ll see the pattern)</p>
