Jan 2010 SAT Essay

So what did you guys use for your examples? I used Dead Poet's Society and LouisXVI.

Writing was a complete joke.

I just used examples that pertained to my “rush of school projects” and my dad’s “waking up to get his work done”.

It was about pressure with limited opprtunities barred by consequences.
Do people thrive more with stress or unlimited ways?

1984, the atomic bomb, and the novel Perfume.
Although…I didn’t manage my time well at all so [excluding the intro/conclusion] I had one huge well-written first paragraph, one superficial second paragraph, and one last example paragraph that was only 3 sentences Dx

i didnt get to even start my conclusion, whats the max i can hope for

I contrasted the pressures of the education system in different countries, and talked about The Great Gatsby.

Protests at Tiananmen Square, FIRST Robotics, and President Bush’s bailout bill, or rather the passing thereof.

i used 300, grey’s anatomy, and obviously the personal experience of pressure from demanding hw

Omg… there was something about deadline in there so I talked about deadlines instead… do you guys think i got a 1?

^ 2.

You needed solid examples to get to the point stated.

Unless if the readers are generous, a 3.

1984, Man on the Moon, Inherit the Wind

Fahrenheit 451 and Civil Rights Movement

this was my first time ever writing an sat essay. I used sinclair the jungle harsh working conditions, lied about job with pressure from boss, and building transcontinental rr

This essay was incredibly easy for me to write compared to LAST SAT. I used Abe Linclon and Dirk Nowitzki

Haha… I’m hoping that I presented my mediocre examples well…

High school students (DUH,) People with type A personalities, and doctors.

King Louis the 16 (french revolution), and Leper Lepellier from A Separate Peace

“Although…I didn’t manage my time well at all so [excluding the intro/conclusion] I had one huge well-written first paragraph, one superficial second paragraph, and one last example paragraph that was only 3 sentences Dx”

Same exact situation here. Ironically, the paragraph cut short was about pressure stimulating the completion of an essay…

What’s the best score an incomplete essay can receive?

I predict a score 10 - 12 for me. My essay was rather short.

Is there only one essay topic? Because the one I had was definitely not about pressure…It was centered on the question of whether or not everyone’s opinions should be valued…Sound familiar?

I’m pretty sure there’s 2 prompts.

I used the Houston Texans, the show Burn Notice, and my personal story about needing an A on a final to save my GPA
