<p>well yes – the deadline for all materials in the RD round is Jan 1 – </p>
<p>and no. In general, colleges review the deferreds after the RD applicants. Thus, there is time to take the test and submit results before the app will be read again. Second, should your S be WL’ed, stronger test scores might help get off of the WL. 700’s always trump 600’s (or worse)</p>
<p>Stronger scores might also help with other colleges to which your S is applying.</p>
<p>Of course, it depends on his scores and the college to which he was applying. If applying to CSOM, then a strong Math score becomes important. If A&S, balanced scores are probably better.</p>
