January 2009 SAT Experimental Sections

the four CR sections i had were: hellen, ocean nomads, rock and roll, and science being crazy. no idea what the experimental was.

@ the prophet: i had se nomads, rock roll, and science.

this sucks. i did the best on the hellen keller one. ****.

Anyone know which writing section was experimental?

I had an essay on some kid's 'uncertain future' with career options in one of my W sections.

The career options is legit; not experimental.

What was on the math experimental besides the pentagon problem (I don't remember that one)?

What's the purpose of the experimental, anyway? Just to throw off cheaters?

@zoaxanthellae

To standardize sections for future tests

oh dear, i was really hoping the math experimental was the grid in...or the one about 2 teams playing each other twice each...or the 5 a b 5 one...

I think I had the math experimental-
one of the questions was about the 'greatest member'? or something..

Math exp, I had 4 sections of math.

sorry, could you elaborate on that?

Well, i don't remember the question exactly, but it asked about the greatest member and the options were like
a. set of all even numbers under 90
b. set of all multiples of three over 10
stuff like that. I put e. set of all integers with a positive square

Eh, it was section 4 for me, I believe.
1 essay 2 cr 3, 4 math

Hi everyone...

I was just curious if anyone knew what the experimental, non-counting portions of the SAT were (obviously we can't say specifically, but what were some "memorable" parts of the CR or math that would allow us to pick up on what section).

I ask this because I feel I did great on one math section, and okay on another!

Thanks!

Does anyone know if either the nomads section or the rock and roll section was experimental?

someone who is 100% sure please respond... :-/

The rock and roll/sea nomad sections were not experimental. Sorry :(

Ivy

I am 100% sure that nomads and rock and roll were NOT experimental. Sorry.

i had a reading experimental section..

one of the sections with two separate long reading passages was really hard for me.
i dont remember which one though......:/

does anyone remember? which one do you think is the experimental?

I really hope it wasn't that kid one! I did good on that one :(

My experimentals was definitely a math:
-The Grid-In with the graph of a circle, where the answer is 4/3, is definitely not experimental. It's the only grid in I had.
-One of the multiple choice sections had a circle inscribed in a pentagon and asked for the maximum number of intersections. This may have been experimental.
-I can't remember the other math. I'd recognize a question if I saw it.
-The one with the 5 a b 5 sequence was not experimental. That was the 16 question math one, I believe.

Sea Nomads, Rock n Roll, and the scientific thinking reading sections were not experimental.

The writing with the Hagia Sophia and the codfish was not experimental. Obviously, Section 10 with the world fair was not experimental.

I just finished my SAT 2 hours ago. I got the experimental section on writing, section 4 & 5.
I remember that the improving paragraphs for sec 5 is talking about "working with old people" and I can't recall sec 4's content.

I feel bad for sec 4 but good for sec 5.

Anyone has the extra Writing section please come in and help me figure out which one is experimental. Thank you!!

Wish everyone will say section 4 is experimental~ Ha
