~January 2009 SAT I Results Thread~

Junior, first time taking it. Pretty unhappy with scores: got a 227 on my PSATs this year. Ugh.

790 on math
730 on reading
710 on writing (8 essay score…***?)

Total: 2230. Anyone know what happened with the writing? Or was it just me?

omg… my last attempt. got a 12 on the essay, but went 40 points down on math.
a superscore of 1920 -_-’ that’s a LOW score comparing to yours guys… i’m an int’l though

800 CR
800 Math
740 Writing but w/ superscore
780 Writing
(2380 Total!!!)
Failed the essay this time around–9.

CR: 750
M: 760
W: 710 (MC: 69, Essay: 9)
Total: 2220

Not too happy with my scores. I can’t believe I did so terrible in writing considering I got 36 on the ACT writing test.

I love how like everyone on here is like in the top 2% of the whole country except for a couple of people. I totally second socalsoccerdude =)

And, this is not the same SAT (took it for free in an intro prep class), but same difficulty and got the results today:

Math: 770 (LOVEING ITTT)
CR: 630 (Hmm… not horrible.)
Writing: 600 (Oyyy veyyy)

Comp: 2000 =)

i totally agree with mcvcm92 and socalsoccerdude

i feel like total s*** compared to everyone here complaining about his/her scores in the 700’s… if you want to boast just be direct about it. the last thing i need is some a-hole waving a 2200+ in my face.

Don’t even look at these forums if you’re going to get ****y because people got better scores than you. It’s not exactly a mystery why perfectionists, elitists, and other people who really care about their scores would congregate and speak about them and even, God forbid, express disappointment.

Even though their scores are far above average, they may not reach their own goals.

So I’m sort of annoyed about the Writing. I got 720 with 8 on essay, 76 MC, and other people with those exact same numbers have posted on this thread with 730. Any explanations?

Also, getting an 8 on the essay in the first place was a shock; I got the same score when I took the SAT in 8th grade three years ago and felt very good about the essay during the test. It seems as though other people here had similar experiences.

Oh, and what Randwulf says is 100% accurate. Everyone has a certain target, and if they don’t reach it, they will obviously be disappointed.

So I kinda epic failed the math section:
740M <–This is 20 points lower than my score in 8th grade 3 years ago…
800CR
800W (76, 12)
I definitely think January has a more lenient curve, b/c I got the same # wrong in Math in November, and probably the same # wrong in CR, plus or minus 1, and my score went up 50 points. That was a pleasant surprise.

no 2400’s? i feel like CC sees a lot of 2400’s in October and November, and then doesn’t see any more until May/June.

does anybody know how ivan stanchev did, btw?

CR 670
M 800
W 780 (76 E:11)
Composite 2250

HAHAHA. DID NOT expect that 800 in Math AT ALL. but, oh well. 100 point improvement from December SAT, so I’m pretty satisfied. I guess I’m done with SATs now pff.

cr 740
m 790
w 690

gotta work on writing…

Where are you all seeing your essay scores?

CR: 800
Math: 700
Writing: 650 (66 E:8)
Total: 2150

Definitely liking the CR but I’m pretty shocked my math was so low…I suck at writing so that was expected. Hopefully I’ll be able to superscore this to around the 228 I got on the PSAT. It seems like a LOT of people got 800s on the CR, but thats probably because we’re all overachievers here.

@Ari: If you log onto College Board from the front page of the “For Students” section where it says that you can view your scores, it should show it to you.

EDIT: Click here: [Official College Planning Tools | Research Colleges and Universities Online](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools)

SAT doesn’t stand for that anymore…haha.

Eh, my scores were alright I guess.

What is the writing choice multiple choice out of. I got 76 but 76 out of a total of what?

Reading: 730
Math:680
Writing:750
Total:2160
