January 2009 SAT Math Discussion

i got the distance was 2rad6

thats right

so far the math questions i’m not sure about are the slope of the line tangent to the circle and the chance that the number u pick from the first set will be in the 2nd set (the one with 3,6,9 etcc…)

can somebody explain the sequence problem, I got it right but I guessed

(oh, how lucky am I, Math=800)

its 4/3 and if i rmr correctly it was 1/3

i think i got 1/3 … 2/6 and then reduced it
the tangent slope was a fill in right? the last or second to last question of that sectionn i think

This thread makes me feel happy, yet sad at the same time… considering I omitted the last question on both full multiple choice math sections since I couldn’t figure either of them out (sequence/pi sector angle) and I flat out guessed on the circle/tangent line thing, definetly got it wrong! hopefully I get a 700 on math haha, it seems like I got a lot of similar answers to most of the posters here for a lot of the questions.

B = 4…I think…

you all sure the tangent circle line’s slope was 4/3? because i got 3. but i was wrong probably. ****.

agree with 2 and 4

Can anyone tell me how to do the final grid in problem (the one with the slope and tangent or something)? I had no clue what to do so I just wrote in a number lol

never mind, just read previous posts

What? Yes, you can. Maybe I worded the solution wrong, but that’s how you do it…I think…o_O (it got the right answer)

Post another solution then if you’re so sure.

ohh ok ugh i seriously could notttt figure out that question i was staring at it foreverr!

Damnit I wrote 1/2 for the slope because I found the slope from (0,6) and the coordinate they gave.
Damnit :frowning:
One Wrong
I did get 2 for that extremly weird question like (x-y)^ x or w.e

was the question with a 1 in the tens place and a 3 in the hundredths place (and it involved 1/k) part of the experimental math section? i can’t remember

What would -2 and -3 be for math? I’m guessing 760 and 740?

does anyone remember whether 40 was an option for the are of pi/sector one???

…

i spent like 5 minutes on that (x-y)^x =/
right before time was called i tried plugged in 2 and it worked. whew haha

was the circle x2 + y2 = 25 problem a multiple choice or grid in???

grid in . . .
