Why was the “line with PQRS” one 8? Shouldn’t it have been 6?

the one about asquareb , the answer was 5square3
5^3=125

the triangle one is 41. 20 + 20 + 1 =41 duh

@ elsenorchris: Please read previous posts before posting. The identical sides were only identified as “n”. 11 = n. Thus, 11+11+20 = 42.

Too bad one side is 20 and the other two sides must BOTH BE N.

“the one about asquareb , the answer was 5square3
5^3=125”

Yeah, 5square3.

Wait so is the answer to the one about the ski/debate club 8 or 11?

what was the answer for the question that said the value for x had to be 3 positive integers under 10 and the value of y had to be 3 positive integers under 20, couldnt both have had 1 2 3 making it 6/6 = 1???

8 kids were involved in BOTH; 11 were involved in ONLY ONE.

what was the answer for the question that said the value for x had to be 3 positive integers under 10 and the value of y had to be 3 positive integers under 20, couldnt both have had 1 2 3 making it 6/6 = 1???

It was looking for the lowest possible number, so (1+2+3)/(17+18+19) = 6/54

fledgling - okay. the question asked for ‘both,’ right? so the answer was 8?

^ Yes… 10char

Yup, 6/54, which simplifies to 1/9.

I think it’s still correct if you don’t simplify though.

I didn’t see anyone discussing the bonus one with that extremely weird graphs.

Salary: 65k
Bonus: percent*salary per year

I got 5/100 * 65000 Please tell it’s right :(

And the graph question with y coordinate being less than 1. The xvalue that gave y=1 was 3. So your answer had to be between 2 and 3 iirc. I put 2.5 Am I right?

6x+3>a
6x>a-3
x>(a-3)/6
x>(a/6)-.5
so you can try the answer choices. A. (a/6)>(a/6)-.5
Here you can see that 0>-.5
Or you can plug in numbers for a and see that it always works. I hope.
Anyway, (a/6)-3 is not greater than (a/6)-.5

that’s how I did it. I think it came out to be 3250 or something.

@sunshower212 I put A for that one, I think a/6. The other answers had a/6 minus some integer.

@doughboy The commissions one? I forget the numbers, but it was just finding the percentage on the chart and multiplying by the salary.

Also, I really don’t remember the 9y/4 question. I know it’s something with yards but can someone remind me what the numbers in the question were? And how you solved?
And I’m pretty sure I got 135 for the quadrilateral because I remember getting that number for something, but again I don’t remember the question. Can someone remind me what it was?
Thanks!

Yup, 6/54, which simplifies to 1/9.

I think it’s still correct if you don’t simplify though.

^So, it’s still right??

sunshower212: the 9y/4 q went something like this…
8 feet of lumber cost $6; in terms of y, how much would y yards of lumber cost
