January 2010 Writing Thread

okay, I put E for the last one too… almost put A

the chairman one was like

The chairman of the school board announced a plan that somethingsomething during an interview with a local news reporter

VS…

During an interview with a local news reporter, the chairmna of the school board announced a plan somethingsomethingsomething

Paiev the error was “which”. Powerbomb, the second answer is correct I believe.

Ohh and for one of the improving paragraphs questions, for the sentence that described the wind farms being displeasing to people for ruining asthetic beauty or something -
was it…
“Granted, there are also” or
“[something] people do not welcome…”
?

also the paragraph editing thing - was it about an irish woman or windmills?

I had the windmill.

In addition, there are people who do not welcome < I put this as the answer.

yes. That was what I had as well.

I feel like choice E on the agency one was weird. Cause choice E would change the meaning (the agency reported…it had reduced) ? The original sentence just stated that the agency reported that [whatever] was reduced, not that it reduced [whatever].

Excellent, thanks. That’s what I put but I wasn’t sure if it was actually an error or not.

the one about soviets and the whale, it was “feed” right? because whales can’t feed themselves.

I put A for the Agency one. E changed the meaning.

no not feed.

It was “helped break” ships cant help they’re not human beings.

lol… yeah they can.

I put the last verb for the whale problem.

yeah that’s “feed”

Not feed, the second “had…”

Damn lol.

What about that ,even though question? was it E.

Also what about the camel one #29 was it “having”?

Also was the agency A or E.?

I put no error for the whale one :/

I don’t think we can decide between A and E for the agency one lol

What did you guys put for the question with, roughly, “provided resources for photographers…” I marked “resources for” as wrong, thinking that it had to be “provided resources to.”

The incorrect was the second had^ in the whale question
