January 2011 SAT

Let's make this the going thread for the upcoming January 2011 SAT.

Direct Hits seems to be the best vocab solution for now, but does anyone have any predicted vocab lists for Saturday's test? Essay predictions? Other misc. tips?

After the test, we can use this thread to discuss how people felt about it.

Good luck test-takers!

If you know Direct Hits and basic vocab, then you should miss at most one SC problem.

Hopefully, CR is -2=800(or-3=800, though this is very unlikely)

Math is -0=800, so be very careful of stupid mistakes when taking the math portion

For Writing, follow the How to write a 12 essay in 10 days. If you get an 11 or 12, -1 should be 800 Writing

To anyone feeling adventurous:
DRESS FOR SUCCESS

I’ll probably use this website to gauge how well I did and whether or not I should send score reports…

i should have researched more examples for my essay but was too lazy lol
i just hope for a double digit. and i hope to do well on cr.

Answer to the first multiple choice question is B.

@AvidStudent: Watch that be right, lol.

@Krazy: Don’t stress too much over the examples. Just review some of the themes of some of the books you read in HS and maybe look up some famous people in history/modern-day that have overcome adversity and/or shown nonconformity. Hopefully the essay topic won’t be too “irregular” as far as typical SAT essay topics go.

@littlepenguin: Yes! Let’s use this thread after the test to see how we all did/felt about the test. Discussion is always good.

I am taking to Spanish SAT II. I better get an 800 (native speaker).

Well? How did you guys think it went?

It was alright. I thought math was harder than usual, but not impossible. I had extra CR [was the experimental one with the date of birth of the baseball player?]

no, the baseball one was a regular section, not an experimental.

Yeah, that one wasn’t experimental 'cause I had an extra math and I had the baseball one.

Agree - there were some unusually tricky math questions that required a bit more thought.

Well I guess this thread is useless now.

See the following if you haven’t already:

for those who have taken an SAT before the jan/11, was the math really harder?

this is GREAT news- i didnt think it was too bad (but this was my first SAT) so next time i hope to get an 800…

So when do we get our scores?

How many more days?

I cant wait much longer!

They come out on Feb 10

Yup. Otherwise known as “VZ” Day ;)
