I am literally hopeless in CR section. I just took the test for math section XD

SHould i cancel my test??
im taking it again this june but i heard that there are like specific months in which the test are easier and janurary is one of them

oh and this test was the same as novembers in 2008 if you look at in CC you can find that the sections were the same at least for CR.

and yes the essay was so freaking annoying…i wasnt really hoping high on this one so i didnt really study i kind of want to cancel it.
im an international kid so our tests were probably different and btw experimental can be different for each test. i had a reading

It is my first time taking the SAT… I must say it seemed too easy.

You guys are making me feel all self conscious now…

So most of you guys I suppose are US citizens. I am from Pakistan so theres a difference in my jan 22 and yours. anyway, this was my last chance at sat and It went pretty bad. I think the test we have is different than what you people have. the day before, I scored a 2210 on my practice test, So I was feeling good but at the test day, I just couldnt deliver. I knew it wasnt very difficult, but I just couldnt keep it up. And critical went pretty bad. I didnt get any passage at all. I mean, I just couldnt do well. I have never been this disgusted at myself. there shouldnt have been much of a problem, but instead of cracking the sat, I myself got cracked.
prediction : CR: 600
WR: 680( 8 essay i guess)
Maths: 670
a total of 1950, just 120 more than my previous.

Anyone know the curve (approximately) for the Math. I thought it was harder than most Math sections i’ve come across. I got one wrong and skipped one. Would i get a 780 or 760? I think the curve should be generous on Math and CR. Just my two cents. Anyone care to inform me? Thanx

I’m pretty sure the math question with the overlaps was 1…
The overlaps are on top of each other, not next to each other. If each section is one, then you wouldn’t add them together, because you’re measuring length, not height. taking 30-22 isn’t a way to get the correct answer, because you have to remember that there are 2 sections for each overlap. You would need to divide that answer by 2 to get the overall length of the overlap.

I’m looking at this and realizing how badly I screwed up the CR section…and I had CR experimental D: I didn’t even realize there was such a thing until I read these posts!

EDIT: I just realized I made a mistake in the math. I feel super-smart now :D

does anyone remember any vocab answers?

unpredictable…eschew…hardy…anomolous are some

so if i had two writing 25-min sections back to back, that means i had a writing experimental right?

For anyone looking for the compiled list of cr sentence completion answers, go to the “January 2011: Critical Reading” thread under the “SAT Preparation” forum. The list is post #658 (on page 44 for me)

wait so does broadcast mean distribute widely or showed openly

^^ I believe it has been established that “broadcast,” in the context of the test, means to distribute widely.

What did everyone put for the reading question that asked what an extrovert and a ballet dancer had in common regarding the passage about pain?
I know some of the options were how they respond to social situations, something about physical stimuli, and manipulation. I don’t remember the others.

I put the answer “their response to physical stimuli” or whatever it was. I was about to put how they feel like they belong to a social group, but then I figured the passage never said anything about ballet dancers belonging to a group. The only similarity was their response to physical stimuli.

same i put the response to physical stimuli.

I basically bombed the rest of the passages in reading

Also I ran out of time on the ing tribulation passage. * ets with their *ing boring as * passages, **** this.

I was getting 600-680 CR on practice tests, but i think i Got in 500s for reading this time, but 700+ in writing and 700+ in math

nvm i think i got 600+ in reading cuz u have to miss a ****load to get below a 600

Could somebody remind me some of the questions that were on the math experimental. I know the knitting question was part of it but I cant seem to remember any other questions. Was the square diagonal also part of the section.

p.s. what would i get in writing for a 10 on the essay and 2 wrong on the multiple choice. what if it is a 12.
how about 4 missed in math but rest right.
how about -8 in reading with the curve we might be getting?

SOMEBODY I NEED TO KNOW!

Bumb 10 char

who else got 61 for that honey comb math question…the hexagon arithmetic one? and i used an einstein quote, tom edison, and personal experience for essay, b’sd for sure but it was good bull crap

@ProdigyGamer

The writing with a 10 essay and 2 wrong would be around 750-780, with a 12 it would be 800.

Your math would be 710 or 720
