January 2013 - Official SAT: Chemistry Discussion Thread

The instrument used for delivery of accurate volume.

Also, I used the round bottom thing when I Diluted Sulpuric acid, in lab last week

It’s certainly possible. Problem is, you never know what CB is thinking.

Is it just me, or I’m really scared. I thought, I did okay. But, the more I delve into this discussion, the more I realize I’m wrong :(

Does anyone remember the question that was discussed on the old thread? It was a true/false question.

The second part was: “BECAUSE all diatomic molecules are gases at STP.”
(That part was F, because of Br.)
What was the first part to that question?

The first part was N2, O2 and H2 are gases at 1atm, etc. which is true.

What about the
one need to measure the mass of the crucible and stuff more than once, etc. and the because part as well.

I think the 2007ers said it was t t ce for that one. ^

Biology was definitely more difficult than the Chem test…

For the diatomic question, I also remember putting false for the diatomic (I2 and Br2 are liquid at STP). And let’s be real, how many of our labs actually have a volumetric pipette that we can use all the time?

Does anyone remember the question about which equation had the least amount of entropy? I believe I said the equation that only had a solid as its product (as opposed to a gas).

Entropy was (g)–>(s)

Was that option a (b) or something?

It was either a b, c, or d, I think. And okay, that’s what I put. ^

The T/F question about All chlorine atoms being identical and having the same mass is false isnt it?
Or were they talking about chlorine atoms of a single isotope?

I skipped that one because I wasn’t 100% sure. What is the answer for the 50C with the curves? I put in acetone. Is it right?
Btw, I skipped 6 qs. Is it still possible for me to get a 800.

Yup, acetone.
Curves aren’t fixed. So, usually they range from 75-85 for extreme cases or even 81-85 for the easy cases. Can’t say really
