January 2014 SAT

As you might already know for essays, fill up the entire 2 pages and you have a guaranteed 10.

For the MC portion, I’m sorry, but there’s not much help I can give you since I have always had a penchant for grammar, and I just seem to “know” the correct answer. What I recommend, though, is just to use your ear and pick whichever answer choice “sounds” the best, if that makes sense. Best of luck.

anyone else wish the test was sooner? Been studying everyday of winter break so far… Kinda just want to get it over with and get it off my mind.

Ever since the summer, I’ve been looking up new vocab I encounter from my AP English assignments, Direct Hits, and other supplementary readings on my iPhone notes. I’ve gathered probably more than 300 words.
For Math, I’ve been reviewing with PWNTheSAT. It’s helped ever since but I still have a long way to go. At least I’m able to tell what areas I’m weak on.
I don’t really know how to prepare for CR. I think AP Lang has been helping but I’m still stuck around 600s on my practice tests.
It’s my first SAT as a junior anyway so I still have a lot of time to improve if I get a meager score.

Number2 is okay. I prefer not to use it as the internet can be quite distracting. I’m also using , which is pretty good. That’s all the resources I’m going to use for the January SAT. (BB+Essential+Ultimate Guide++CB+Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar).

Personally, AP Lang has not helped me, since my teacher isn’t exactly the best.

I’ve noticed that not many people take the January sat in comparison to others

^Yes, for most seniors the last possible testing date is in December to be in time for applications, and most juniors take their first SAT in the Spring.

@Rishab

That’s an understatement…

I filled the two pages for October, yet I got an 8…

^ Wouldn’t it be an overstatement?
because he said it guarantees a 10, yet you got an 8, so he over exaggerated?
Just wondering.
BTW, I made a progress thread similar to this one a couple months ago for the Jan. SAT if you guys wanna look at that one.

@eagle4022 I mean it in the sense that your sentences may be repetitive as long as they support your thesis. I’m not talking about essays that have weak arguments, examples, etc.

hii guys you think the exam will be recycled or not !!

HELP ME ON THE ESSAY PLEASE. MY TOPIC WAS SHOULD WE TAKE EXPERT ADVICE INTO OUR DECISIONS. I WROTE HOW WE SHOULD QUESTION AUTHORITY USING THE REFORMATION AND MILGRAM EXPERIMENTS. I REALIZED THERE WASNT much stuff about “DECISION MAKING” SPECIFICALLY, SO I ADDED IT USING A CAROT INTO MY THESIS. ALSO MY MILGRAM EXPERIMENT EXAMPLES SHOWS WE HAVE TO REMAIN VIGILANT BECAUSE WE NATURALLY TRUST EXPERTS ORDERS.
THE REFORMATION ONE STATED THAT WE SHOULD QUESTION AUTHORITY BECAUSE THEY CAN ABUSE THEIR POWER.
IS THIS OFF TOPIC?
