***January 2014 SAT***

Taking the sat for the first time. I’ve been doing practice tests and have been getting low 600’s on both cr and writing with perfects on math. … Hope I get lucky on the non math parts tomorrow.

Taking tomorrows test as well, what’s the significance of the info in the google drive for the test that was posted earlier?

Good luck, everyone

andrew that drive is where we’re going to post the test answers after we’ve taken the test. Good luck everyone! Get some rest and eat :)

Any last minute tips for boosting your essay grade? I have trouble with coming up with examples, so that’s the scariest portion of the test for me. ;-;

@DaneBrick
Watch a classic movie tonight, you’d think I’m joking but I’m not… If it’s a good, and classic movie, you’ll easily be able to integrate it

For example, I am watching Dead Poets Society tonight, a movie I love, and an ultimate classic

Is it necessary I have a watch at the SAT? I’m not sure if the proctor will call out the times during the test, so I was wondering if I would really need one, even though I usually finish sections with 7-10 minutes left.

They will call out 10 or 5 minute left usually.

ive tested at two different test centers fort he SAT and PSAT and they gave generous heads up for time.

I’ve finished the test! So glad it’s all over. (I’m in Australia, so I’m 19-16 hours ahead of the U.S.)

I never had to use a watch unless the clock was placed behind me and I didn’t want to glance behind. Clocks were always in front of room where I tested and proctors gave 5 minute warnings every time. :slight_smile:

Good luck to everyone and let’s not hope the curve is like last years. Cheers!

I’m hoping desperately for a 2300+. I worked so hard for this. I spent literally every day of my summer break doing SAT prep.

yoo does anyone here remember the last maths gridding in question?

I finished the test as well. I am so relieved that it is over! I am also hoping for 2300+… @snail17, if you remind me of the topic, I bet I can remember the answer. What did you guys think in general? I think I got pretty lucky with the vocabulary that came up because I had studied them over winter break. Overall, I didn’t think it was bad compared to some of the practice exams I have done.

i cant remember that question eitherr but i think the answer was 6

that last grid in was very confusing to me. The question was a and b are integers, if (a-b)^n = (b-a)^n and n is between 100 and 110 how many different values of n are possible? I put 11 because it didn’t say that a did not equal b. Because if a=b than you will 0^n equal 0^n so all n will work. What do you guys think?

■■■■ THANK YOU i finally remember, the answer was 6, cos all the even numbers and ■■■■ i guess

but what if a=b?

Does anyone remember the passage about the kid who found a book he liked?
One of the questions included foreshadowing and flashback. I put flashback, is it correct?
Also the last section about the elephants. One of the questions is about siri or the other elephant who was taught how to draw. I forgot what the question asked but it was something like ‘the elephant mentioned in passage 2… Would most likely not fit into the category of passage 1 because’ or something like that. one of the choices was because she was taught how to draw. Is it correct?
I found critical reading difficult. Do you guys remember any questions???

@silver1726 i put personification for the book question because it said something like the text on the book smiled at him and i have the same answer to your second question but what did you put for the last grid in? The question with (a-b)^n=(b-a)^n ?

Nothing
