***January 2016 SAT (International Only) Thread***

  1. what time saving thing? 2. could u msg me or post that link @bsdsj22 thanks!

Guys, quick question. In the 20-questions Math section, #4, they gave you cordinates of B (4:6) and asked to get the area of a triangle. Was the answer 36?

I got so frustrated because I couldn’t get an integer answer, I would get 35.4 so I just guessed it.

I wanted to get higher on CR and so I didn’t study Math nor even revised anything since November. I did better in Math than last time and completely flunked and did worse on CR. -.- ugh.

Also the last Math section, the question regarding 5 people averaging 30 minutes and the total of the 9 being 34, was the answer for the 4 39? I initially put 38 but I remembered the people are not 1:1 but at that point I decided to move on and I guessed 39.

@abc1688

The thing in quotes was “time saving” technologies. The question referred to the quote and asked its function.

@RoySAT
(934) = 306. (530) = 150
306 - 150 = 156/4 = 39

@Learner12388 Yes! Guessed it right haha. Thank you.

What was the greatest ‘hoppable’ number? Was it 7968?

@savambi
It is 8979. I got it wrong too. Forgot it said greatest.

@savambi i put 8979 i think…but i definitely know i put 2 9s

I put 8979. First positive term is 6th, right?

@RoySAT
-7 + 5(1.5) = 0.5. So 5th

It said first positive number. Not integer.

@Learner12388

It was 6th

How? 0.5 Is positive

0.5 is the 6th.
-7
-5.5
-4
-2.5
-1
0.5

Damn it!!!

@RoySAT @bsdsj22 @Learner12388 Wait what was the full question for that?

Also there was one about A being the sum of the positive even integers below 1000, and asking for the sum of the positive odd integers below 1000, does anyone remember the answer to that?

And for CR, the question containing the option “accurate but incomplete”, I put “unsubstantiated but promising”. Anyone else put that?

guys
how many possible values of p 2 or 3??

@Harvardbound2017

Most people here agree that the answer is either “accurate but incomplete” or “appealing but erroneous”

I personally put the latter.

ah thanks! a couple more questions:

  1. anyone remember some CR passage about fossilization? what did you put for that? I think my answer was “in a state to be fossilized”

  2. I also remember there were two writing questions which basically tested “they who are” or “them who are”; what did you guys put for those?
