***January 2016 SAT (International Only) Thread***

I really really remember E as “Z is odd if n is even”

is that good or bad… (is it right?)

Okay, we know what the answer is, stressing about which option is right one will only kill us from the inside :’)
Btw, the question which asks what is common between the two personalities of the haiku mom - what’s the answer?
I put in industrious

What were the other choices?

Dying inside because I put Z is odd when n is odd. 2 mistakes so far. :frowning:

I put industrious.

I have a question about the train passage. Was the attitude of the author “ambivalent” or “admiration”? I chose the former but then I remember the passage begins with “In his brilliant book…” so the answer should be ‘admiration’ no?

@XiaoAh It’s admiration because he starts it off by saying “in his brilliant book…”. You’re right

for the f(x) flipped over y, how many times does f(x) = 3/2 intersect?

was it 1 time? idk was tough man

Since the domain is -8<= x <= 8, f(x) intersects the graph 8 times.

I can’t believe I made such a stupid mistake in one of the ‘easy’ questions. Got all the tough ones including the quadratic equation and the graph one. But fumbled up in one of the first few questions. Again, the 800 dream is gone. Any idea what the curve will be for:
-1 in Math
-5 and a 10 Essay on Writing
-3 on Reading?

^ I recommend ‘the college panda’ Just gg it :slight_smile:

@ultimatesidemen2 I’m pretty sure (from the US December 2015 forum) that a -1 math is actually a 780, and a -3 in reading *should be around a 760+ - as for writing I have no clue haha

Hey guys I feel really confident about my maths and I know its all done and that we can’t do anything about our marks, but if you’ve got any querries, think you overcame a question that probably would’ve tricked a big % ppl etc., feel free to post and comment! Btw, just some consolation, if we screw up, at least Kanye’s album is gonna b out the same day so…

Hey guys in math, the lollipop question(2nd grid in)
was it 600 or 3000?

@eren2122
600. I only remember the answer. No clue what the question was.

@eren2122 The question asks what was the number of lollipops which were NOT chocolate. 150*5 lollipops, so 750. 750-150=600. 600 m8, it’s the answer

i filled in 3000 first, thought it was 750 lollipops each, changed it into 600 last min

In the correcting passage of the 35 question writing section, there was a question which asked “what should be added before sentence 8 ‘the gardens would be right alongside the dinner table’ ?” I put in “in other words”. What did you guys put it as?

Also, the next question which asks how to revise “the usage of trucks carrying carbon emissions” something. I put it as a decrease in the TRUCKS themselves instead of the plants, cuz if less proximity, then less trucks…right?

can anybody explain how in the world can the answer to the question “why does the author put quotation marks” in the traveling passage be “assert a previous claim” or something like " the author is dubious," and not “to highlight an unorthodox use” because the author eventually explains that it’s contrary to what the quoted words imply? ANYBODY???

@collegepappy
I put down " an unorthodox term usage" because that was the only one that made sense. “Dubious assumption” was the first one that I eliminated. I really don’t think that that can be the answer.
