***January 2016 SAT (International Only) Thread***

Heard there will be a mass delay and possible cancellation for THOUSANDS OF KOREAN students who allegedly had prior access to the JANUARY 2016 (Dec 2015 U.S.) international exam administered in Korea and other parts of the world where Koreans reside, thanks to the Chinese who mass distributed the January exam all over the world and caused a mass cancellation in 5 different countries (China, Macau, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, etc.).

ANYONE HEARD ABOUT THIS?

Wow!! Well that’s certainly a first. I guess collegeboard was shocked to have too many 2400s this year, possibly thousands.

The shocker is that when the College Board/ETS made the bold yet correct decision to cancel the January exam in China, it was well aware that the compromised December 2015 U.S. exam could also be mass distributed to other parts of Asia, but it chose to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stem the leakage further and used the exact same exam in South Korea and other parts of the world.

And in that 2-day window, that is exactly what happened. The Chinese in their desperation to cash out in the wake of the cancellation in the mainland, mass distributed the exam all over South Korea for as little as $200 so that by the day of the actual exam, it would be very surprising if there was NOT a single Korean student who had seen parts of or even the entire exam the night before!

Wow is right!!

@marvin100 I took the November 2015 SAT (March2013 US) and people were saying the curve wasn’t the same.

Wow. Hopefully this doesn’t delay other scores.

Hey guys, This question about the musket scenario in procrastination. do you remember that?
what were the answer choices? People in the december thread said the answer was absurd example to illustrate a point.

@rahuilmars231
That’s what I said too. Anyone else remember what they chose?

@Learner12388 what was this question about? Can u please tell what they meant by this musket authors yada yada?

I don’t exactly recall, but the author of passage 1 talks about the musket situation on the introductory paragraph & uses it as a stepping stone to show a writers procrastinantion. The musket situation was something about a group of people forcing people to write at pen point (don’t remember. It was an absurd situation)

@RoySAT - People say a lot of things. Any actual evidence?

10 more days Guys. This feels like an eternity!

Does anyone else remember the rest of the options for the musket question?

Guys in the math mc section, what is the answer for the question 2x+3…

@Learner12388 , wasn’t the question asking what value of x would make the the equation( the long equation, I dont remember it) zero? Or was it asking the value of 2x+3?

And also, there was a graph question that relates time with something else(dont remember), and we are supposed to find an equation that represents the relationship. I chose c) t= 46n, what do you think?

@kunkunta
It was asking the value of 2x + 3. & don’t remember the graph question.

Will the curve be the same as the December us test?

@testsat1212 From what i’ve heard, Its usually relatively tougher for Asian applicants(including Indians). Because those chinese and Korean kids seem to nail the SAT on the head every time and that results in a tougher curve for everyone. because it is considered easy for Asians. We all know how those kids have been getting such awesome scores. I’m just praying that I don’t let myself down with the scores. All the best everyone!

^Curve is put before answer sheets are scored and analysed. CB gets seniors from HS to classify the questions as easy medium or hard, and if there are a lot of hard ones, the curve will be good, if there are a lot of medium ones, the curve will be harsh.
