***January 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@bobtroll420 , Ya, I’ll go with that

Guys can you write the answers you remember from the passage questions for writing? I found those to be quite annoying.

Also I know that this is for the wrong test but the December thread is dead now so there is no point. I got 10 wrong in CR in december but I got a 630. I was thinking about calling them to see if they made a mistake since this seems rather weird.Do you think this score seems unusual?

@ratclown Did you skip any questions? If you didn’t, I would cause it seems ridiculously low.

http://the college panda.com is for sale

@bobtroll420 I did not skip any. Im going to call them and see. An interesting thing I want to note is that this thread is way more dead than the other ones. Its kind of crazy.

@ratclown i think its more dead than normal because people keep saying college board is monitoring it

For anyone whose test today was postponed until next month

My daughter took the SAT this morning here in California and we have a few CR prep books to give away if anyone’s interested. They are Barron’s SAT Critical Reading Workbook, Advanced Practice Series Critical Reading Workbook, and The Critical Reader Complete Guide to SAT Critical Reading, by Erica Meltzer. There’s also a CB Blue Book which I’m happy to send but I imagine most people have this and it’s pretty heavily annotated. Everything would fit in a USPS 2-day Priority Mail medium flat rate box.

Please message me if you have any use for them!

@curlypie99 lol i just created this fake account to discuss it.

Oh my god, you guys already discussed the exact question that stymied me and might get me nuked.

Anyways, I’m almost 100% sure that question is BS, because after getting home I ran through ALL of the solutions and there exist cases where each of them is wrong. Almost certainly it’s in a testing section and we won’t be graded for it, except if we disclose the details and we get tracked down.

smh

shoot first, find lop in koch [Yiddish for hole in the head] later.

confused about 2 math questions:

I put 47.4, but the fractional form, 237/5, cannot be written in 4 spaces…

What was the answer to the a,b,c question?

@CBlueDreams How was (a-c)^2 > (b-c)^2 not always right? I checked it out pretty thoroughly and I couldn’t find anything wrong with it.

I’m not discussing it, nor do I know what you’re talking about. I’m not a 800 scorer in math, so if we’re talking about the same thing I may be mistaken.

Hickey, I got that too. I tried 6 different sets of numbers and I kept getting that.
Either way, I usually get all of the math right, however, when considering the entire test, there were 2 really, really weird Math questions. I had to skip em because of their wording. Was anyone in the same boat?

On the other hand, I felt like the writing sections were really simple.

How did you guys feel about the prompt?

@Hickey
800m in oct.
Your answer is what I got.
(a-c)^2 > (b-c)^2 is right.

What do you think the curve for an 800 Math will be? If I missed one could I still possibly get it?

@TheCanadianKid , On my first math section there were 3 that I thought were weirdly diffuclt. 2 of them took about 5 minutes for me. I’m still pretty sure I got them right though. I’m also a typical 800 scorer.

Writing was average for me. Prompt was okay, but I didn’t leave enough time (or room) for a conclusion.

@thetex Thanks, thats what i thot. <:-P

@thetex Knew it!
