2230 770 M 740 W 720 R Not too bad but not sure what I’ll do now considering I’m a junior and that was the last exam (definitely not doing new one???)
Special thanks to all of u homies out here on CC, the plethora of information I gained from u guys about this test is just crazy, and I am very thankful for everything. U guys helped me get past my dream score of 2300+ and I am very happy for everyone who also hit their goal. To those who didn’t, just remember that this is only a test that doesn’t define u in any manner; keep ur head up and keep moving in life. Don’t squander and mope over a number- u are much more than that
I can sympathize with you guys so much! Best of luck on your college endeavors and hope you dont have to take the new SAT.
I received a composite score of 2170, is this competitive for colleges like University of Virginia, Bowdoin, or Boston College or should I take the new SAT?
I have to be honest…I’m happy but kind of sad…I got 10 on the essay the last 2 times, but I got an 8 this time and it costs me my 2400. I still got a 2380, but to miss it so close because my proctor only gave us 20 minutes instead of 25 just completely sucks. Oh well, I’m pretty sure 2380=2400, I’m just glad I’m done with this dumb test.
My score went up 270 points to a 2060 and I’m happy enough with that. May take the ACT though if I’m feeling lucky in September! Hope everyone got the score they wanted!
Hi guys,
I’ve been following this forum since I took the SAT on January 3rd. You guys have been a source of encouragement to me over these past few weeks. Your posts gave me comfort when I was feeling anxious before the exam and when I was feeling nervous anticipation after.
I sincerely hope that you guys all got the scores that you wanted. And I know that some of you are nitpicking over certain scores but I just want you to know that the SAT is but one portion of your entire college application. I am a strong believer that colleges merely look at your scores to see whether you are capable enough of doing well in the college. So realistically, I don’t think there is any difference between a 2260 and a 2310. Either way, I hope you guys are happy with your scores and if not, there are always more tests in the future.
As for myself, I got a 2230 on this test (800 W with 11 essay, 740 M, and 690 R). I wish I had taken the SATs more than once so I could’ve superscored but I think this is the score I will stick with. I’m not very happy with my math and reading scores but I honestly hate the SATs so much that I don’t ever want to study for it again.
Good luck you guys!
How does everyone know their essay scores??
Hey congrats on everyone reaching their goals! If you don’t do well, there’s always the ACT and the new SAT. And it’s just a test at the end of the day :).
@JuicyMango It sure is! And I’m glad that I’m done with this sinful test. Cheer up about your essay score, in college you won’t need to write 25 minute essays anymore.
@crazy43 It appears under the WR score.
@HappinessXOX Haha that’s great news to me :). I’m gonna burn all my SAT books first thing in the morning lol. Maybe make some marshmallows with that fire. I guess I’m just worried that colleges will not like the 8 essay, even though I got a 10 the last 2 times. But I tried my best :).
how do you guys see your essay scores?
yeah the writing curve does seem harsh. I got a better essay score but my MC score is so low (71) so my writing score didn’t go up
@HappinessXOX Thank you, but it doesn’t show up on my report. Must have been something extra ordered for the reporting?
Fml 800R, 800M, 790W…
There are two places to check scores. One just gives you the raw score, the other gives you percentile and essay score. I don’t think I can link on here, but if you search “check sat scores” a page will come up with a table of sat dates. At the top, there will be a link that says “check January sat scores”. That will give you the essay score
The writing curve did seem harsh. I think i only got one wrong and it brought the mc score own to 75.
Edit: I guess I got 2 wrong on mc then. That’s a pretty lenient curve.
@pillowspillows LOL join the club, I got 800 in reading and math, but a 780 in writing. I was like Yes, YES, NOOOOO!!!
80 MC with an 8 essay = 780 doesn’t seem too harsh to me. Is this a normal curve or lenient?
I got a 78/80 MC (i have no idea what this means) and a 10 on essay = 790 so that seems pretty lenient
