January 28, 2012 SAT

Hey guys,
Just wondering...After taking the SAT 2 days ago... How confident are you about your scores? Are you guys taking it again , if so..when?

I think I did horribly...possibly only in the 1800s... (550 CR, 700 M, 550 CR) hbu?

I don’t think I did as well as I would have liked. Honestly, I’ve been really busy and didn’t study for it very much. Hoping to get at least a 2120 (score based off my psat score).
I might take the one in May depending on my score.

Yea, I am thinking about may too but thats when i have my AP exam… would june work for me then? but i’m scared that my score would decrease if i take it so far in time…would you suggest march then? Are you also taking AP exams? XD

I get the feeling that my math score completely decimated my composite.
I’m confident in everything else though, especially the essay.
My English teacher prepared me well for that question.

really? how did your english teacher prepared u?O_O im having trouble trying to study for the CR vocab part of the SAT…math im fine =o

I actually think I did pretty well, this one felt easier than the my previous SATs I took. Maybe it’s because I took it few times already so I’m used to it, but other than that I’m feeling really confident in my Jan 28th Scores. I’m guessing ( 750 M, 700 CR, 800 W).

The reason why I don’t want to take the march one is that I won’t know my score before the deadline ends. Unless I really needed the score soon I’d wait to see what I made.
Good point about the AP exams and SAT date being within a few days of each other though. The June 2 sat would probably be a good choice. I think I’ll go with that one if I do end up retesting. I’d forgotten the June one when I first posted.
You score wouldn’t decrease, not if you spent some time studying - I know now that I need to work on the essay portion. xD

Not one of my better showing, but it was my first time, I hoped it would be my last.

CR- 720-770ish Depending on curve
Math- 740 With a harsh curve since the math was easier than usual
Writing- 790-800

Best case scenario: 2310
Likely Scenario: 2250
Worst Case: 2200

Still good though, I am disappointed because I could have done better, not because I got a bad score or anything. 2250 is good IMO.

Drac . Ur worse case senerio is even good . Realistically ; I don’t think I get close to ur standards lol…unseen… Probably I’ll retake in June lol

@Jackiez
Thanks, that is reassuring haha! I guess I care just way too much about my SAT scores…I really have the ambition to go to an Ivy tier college and I feel that only an “amazing” score will get adcoms to notice an unhooked asian like me!

My “long-shot” goal was 2200, and I honestly think I have a shot at it, possibly even better. The few answers I’ve actually checked were some of the more difficult questions, and I actually got those right, so that’s always a good sign.
Also, my essay went surprisingly well. It’s not going to win me a medal or anything, but it was better than it normally is for me. =P
