@Faulknerian, how did you do it study wise? Study plans please because I did terrible.

I’m afraid there’s not much I can suggest beyond doing a ton of practice tests, identifying your weaknesses, and remedying those areas. My trig/calc teacher passes out old SATs every month or so, which is useful for practice.

But everyone learns/studies differently. ^_^; What works for me may not work for you, and likewise.

2100

650M, 720CR, 730W.

Guys, do you think I should retake for LACs such as Vassar, Hamilton, Amherst, Haverford, Middlebury, Bowdoin, etc. etc. ?

2240
760 M
690 CR
790 W

T.T grrr my critical reading score is so low and i feel like i can do even better in math…but i’m afraid if i retake it my writing score would drop some how T__T
…but should i retake it? don’t colleges put more emphasize on math and CR anyways?

i’m not really looking to get into super good schools like MIT or harvard…but i would like to get a full ride to good state schools or to schools like princeton (although princeton IS a super good school that i would be overjoyed to be excepted into) where i qualify for financial aid…
so i have several questions (sry if i’m annoying >.<):
- on the rutgers website (i’m from new jersey) it says at least 2250; is that for composite? would they consider a 2240 for presidential scholarship? if i were to end up with a B+ in AP english, while straight A’s in everything else, would they still consider me? do strong extracurriculars increase chances?
- what are the SAT requirements for a full ride to Maryland U? to UC Berkeley (i would like to go to california although my parents don’t want me across the country…but if i can save them money with a scholarship, they wouldn’t mind ^x^)

Very happy with my Jan SAT; I needed to work on my critical reading, and I was very happy with how I went in it:

Jan SAT: CR 750 M 800 W 720 = 2270

Right sight better than my attempt last May:

May SAT: CR 640 M 800 W 730 = 2170

Superscore = 2280.

:D

I got a 2400!!!

Can’t believe it haha.

Congrats to everyone who did well :)

Got
CR 670
M 710
W 700

Idk if I should retake it though. I am a sophomore and idk if it is worth it.

Umm so i got 2330… which i’m completely okay with! but i got 730 in critical reading…a bit on the low side ><
im thinking about taking it again, but then my writing and math would probably go down… ughhh should i retake?

Congrats to all the 2400’s!!!

I got a 2110.
Math 720
CR 720
WR 670 (8 essay???)

I thought I missed 8-9 on the CR, but I’m pleasantly surprised… either I didn’t remember what I put, or CC speculated answers are wrong. We’ll see.

michelle, your CR+M is 1530, which should be more than enough for any scholarship considerations. I vote no.

Lemon, you’ve got lots of time to improve. I vote yes, but not for another year or so. Why did you take it as a sophomore?

ImE, I don’t know anything about Rutgers, but if it says 2250 I’d believe it. I vote a redo for you, especially if you’re looking at Princeton. But, really, I guess it depends on the rest of your application.

inawe, I’d say it depends on what you want to study and the rest of your app. A 2100 is a good score, but I don’t know enough about those particular LACs to say whether it’s enough. Does your HS have Naviance? That’s where you’d get your best info.

bunny, look up the xiggi method on here. I did a modified xiggi with both my boys, and they were really happy with their scores and saw lots of improvement from when they first started studying. But you HAVE to put in the work. This morning, when ds2 saw his score he thanked me for encouraging him to do all the work. :)

Good luck to everyone with whatever you decide.

guys Im an international student and I just received my sat score. this is the 1st time i take the test so the score is too damn low and it disappoints me the whole day. I got a 2040, but only <600 CR. I have to retake the test, dont I?

pvo143, your score is fine for most schools, but for the top ones, you’ll def have to retake.

I took the Jan test for the first time - aimed for 800m 800w 680r - and I got very close in BB practice, but got 700m 790w and 560r in the actual. The 560 seems fake, but whatever, I’ll retake it :P

thank u for ur advice. I dont aim for big colleges like Yale or Stanford or Harvard or so. I want to apply to any women’s college, one of which I will consider Early Decision. I want to retake SAT in June but Im afraid I dont have enough time for SAT 2 (Math 2 and Chemistry). What do you think? Also I havent taken TOEFL yet so Im a lil concerned now,
