January 9 SSAT Test-takers?

I got AE too!

How about the one that said:

If y doesnt equal zero, and x doesnt equal zero, what is (6.25/y) x =

a) 25/6xy

b) 6x/25y

c) 4x/25y

d) 25x/6y

e) 25x/4y

25x/4y? 10 char

I don’t understand. How did you figure it out??

25 divided by four = 6.25. X has to be on top and y on bottom. The way they expected you to do it was this. 24/4 = 6. .25 * 4 = 1 hence 4(6) + 4(.25) = 25. Hence it’s 6.25.

Awesome! I got both of those!!!

I <3 you guys! Now I can sleep easier!

There was one I didn’t get, but I forgot. It was on section one, I omitted it because I had no clue. It looked easy, though.

Which problem was it?

I’m trying to remember. Oh well, I don’t think it will make a big difference.

I thought the math was pretty easy as well. The football one was wordy, ;/
Reading was ok, I think at most I might’ve gotten 1 or 2 wrong. I had 2 questions I didn’t finish though, so I omitted those.
I thought analogies were fine. Synomyns I think I got 5 wrong at ultimate max.

hey guys, took the ssat yesterday. ask any questions.

Tell me some of the schoools you will be applying to as well.

i had a question about a calculator. i think i put 9.

i put 333 for that.
also, was the 2nd question for the football probelem 2?

i put not enough information for the calculator one.

I guessed on the second football one. I picked A which was the highest amount there.

10 points for predicting the winner

Add points for how many points predicted or how many points won (which ever is lowest)

subtract points for how many excess points were predicted but were over the total by which the team won (something like that)

I think the question was __(insert name here) predicted team A would win the football game by 20 points. Team A won 24-18 How many points does (insert name here) have?

THis is how I did it. 10 + 20 - 0 = 30

but since 30 wasn’t an option, i just picked the highest number…

For every section I was able to finish and go over it like 2 or 3 times just to make sure everything was correct, I hoped it pays off

I got 333 for that one too, I tested like 9 different numbers just to make sure

do you remember the calculator question? I was pretty sure that it couldn’t be solved. but I guess I read it wrong.

since it was a 3 digit number, its in the hundreds. on a calculator, the number above “that certain number” is 3 more than “that certain number”. If you do that for 3 digits, it would result in 333 more than the actual number.
does this make sense? I hope I’m right.

Frannyk, what schools are you applying to?

I misread the question about the calculator. What grade are you in? Thanks for the explanation
