January Critical Reading SAT Thread

yeah i got 18 and 25 too

Do you guys remember the other options to "eliminate" and "erroneous, delusion"?

also, there was this SC about looking for life in outer space, scientists applying skewed data... anyone remember the answer?

Yeah... was the question, "What is the primary purpose of this passage" about the Venus one? I don't remember what I put but I remember not knowing.

wrongheaded, chicanery or something like that was for the skewed data

well I seriously don't remember the answer but it was to show hypothesis and proven facts

Are you kidding!? I just took a guess for that one! Can anyone confirm? For the "wrongheaded, chicanery" SC

"also, there was this SC about looking for life in outer space, scientists applying skewed data... anyone remember the answer?"

All I know is that I didn't put the "fabricated" answer. I put the one before that I think?

I put wrongheaded/chicanery too ..

For the purpose to the venus one ... I remember one of the answers was "to lament" about something ... I might've chosen that one, but I don't think it's right ><

For the primary purpose of Venus question, I got "to speculate about life on another planet" can anyone confirm?

I thought it was to explore an astronomical enigma (or something along those lines)... the passage started talking about the mystery of Venus and stuff and discussed all these theories about what the conditions on Venus are like and why.

I put the enigma answer as well.

i wasn't sure about this one, but i ended up putting astronomical enigma.

I got speculate about life on another planet as well. That was what most of the passage talked about...not how Venus was a enigma. It talked about the conditions of Venus and the possibility of life on that planet.

I put speculate about life because the passage draws a lot of parallels to earth.

I put the Enigma one as well. I guessed lol...

For the Venus one does anyone remember the question about the "reliable data". I remember having to choose between two answers for that one as well.

I put the life speculation answer as well

Oh my, it seems people have different interpretations on the passages. I think this is what makes CR the hardest section, not like math or grammar in which there is only one right answer.

i put enigma. random guess

"For the Venus one does anyone remember the question about the "reliable
data". I remember having to choose between two answers for that one as well."

I put the choice that was about how previous research was untrustworthy or soemthign.
